Which will come first... #1 Defense or #1 Offense?

If at all...

Personally, I think the return of Lee pushes us to having the #1 offense. Speights and Lee front court = buckets and buckets.

Top 5 in both would be good.
We should be balanced.

Give me a tough, mean, stingy defense.

We already seen what a great offense can do under Don Nelson, but we didn't go no where.

We are already no 1 in defence, what are you talking about?

Simply because of how awesome it looks like Dallas' offense is, the odds are that #1 defense is more achievable.....

Though as was said earlier here, if we're top-5 offense and top-5 defense..... that's NBA championship stuff right there. Until, you know, the Spurs decide they're interested.
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

We're already #1 in defense, and we're never going to be higher than #6 or #7 on offense.

Believe it or not, in most cases, it's defense that wins champioships, but I like the balance which gives us the best of both worlds. I'd be real happy if we could maintain our defense, as I'm pretty sure that offense will continue to improve once everyone is healthy and they get used to playing with each other under the new system.

Bogut (who is the centerpiece of our defense):

Rather have a top 10 offense and #1 defense.

Gotta win those ugly games.

I just checked, didn't know we moved up to #1 defense. Image

Is Iggy happy with his role? Or is he happy working within the team concept?

Historically, since 1970, having a strong offense has been slightly more telling for winning titles than having a strong defense (though being good at both is the clear best case). The Russell Celtics dominated with defense but since then offense has carried over into the playoffs slightly better.

You also had the Bad Boy Pistons as well as the Jordan Bulls in addition to the Spurs who were very strong defensively. I'd say those Rocket teams with Olajuwan were pretty strong defensive teams as well.

He's overly working within the team concept to the point where he looks to his shot as a last resort at times. It can be frustrating - his whole mentality, at times, is frustrating. I've never met him, I don't know anyone that's ever worked on him, but I feel safe saying that I just don't like his attitude, not just about basketball, about everything.

Even though it helped us, he ratted out his team in Denver. He talks about getting others paid. He made a stink about the Mark Jackson firing. It was easy to look past all that when he wasn't unselfish to a fault on the court, but it can be irritating.

That's because we didn't have great defenders and no defensive anchor like Bogut.

Also, towards Nellie's last couple of seasons he had to deal with Monta missing a majority of a season because of the moped injury and also having the 2nd most player injuries in the history of the NBA during Steph's rookie season.

The We Believe team and the 07-08 team were underrated as hell and now even Warriors fans forget how good they were.

I agree they didn't have much defense, but they were still deadly as hell and the defense could have improved if they took the time to upgrade the roster rather than blowing it up.

In regards to the current Warriors, this new team is elite. We're already a top defensive team, and once Lee gets back that adds a 19/10 player off the bench to provide more offensive firepower and depth to go along with the elite defense.

Golden State right now is the best of both worlds.

Exactly.

I hate when people treat this question as a "which one would you rather have" type of thing.

GIVE US BOTH OFFENSE AND DEFENSE.

Warriors take pride in being elite in both sides of the court. No need for anyone to say they only love defense, because there will be games in the Playoffs when you'll desperately need the team to score and it would be a waste to play elite defense when you can't even take advantage of all the stops you're making.
