haha David played him about as good as he possibly could. It obviously wasn't optimal defense that we'd see from a Draymond (notice he never actually jumped to contest? namely because he'd foul Gasol), but there is 0 way you can say he didn't crush it on that end. IDK how many rebounds he got, but he was hitting them HARD. Loved the intensity Mr. Lee!

POSTED THIS IN THE GAME THREAD, but wanted to put it here as well to prop up Davi (he's earned at least 1 D in his name)
I liked how Lee got up into Gasol several times which resulted in Gasol moving it. I'm not gonna say that Lee is a stopper, or anything close to that....but what I do like is how he's no longer concerned with picking up fouls like he used to when he was a 35+ minute player. He's competing hard there.
Last night was the first time I watched Lee with the Kerr lead Warriors and actually saw him fitting like we hoped he would. He was playing the style that the rest of the team has locked down up until now.
I hope lee starts to find those flip shots and short hooks that he was so deadly at, because his defensive rotations are better. If he gets his scoring rhythm back, then wow are we tough.
Consummate professional there.....proud of how he has stayed positive and has not become anywhere close to a distraction, for what must have been devastating.

No More DLee please...his lack of rim protection in the first quarter today was difficult to watch. Roll with Ezeli or Green as the backup center, or Speights if he ever gets back.

Lee should only be out there when Harden isn't... that said, our offense hung him out to dry when he touched the ball. We're lucky Lee's not a selfish vet or this would be talked about in a post game presser

I wonder if he will get more minute with Gnetry out of the picture.

If we win the title, I would try to keep the entire squad. Whether he is interested in coming off the bench and forces a trade is a diff issue. I think these finals minutes might change his tune

Re: Lee
If we win he'll want to leave to be a starter. If he stays he's costing himself millions.
Trade him away. If his play continues and we win the series, this can be his lasting memory, was the marquee FA to kick this machine, ending his tenure being the saviour (debatable ) for a championship. Perfect story. Respect to Lee.

Re: Lee
I don't think it is Gentry, but Kerr himself that is not a fan of Lee's game. Kerr doesn't like guys who give full efforts on both ends of the court. I think a lot of Lee's struggles to find playing time is the short leash Kerr had him on and Lee's struggles to grasp all that was required of him on the defensive end. Kerr wants all of his bigs to guard all the way out to the 3 point line and beyond if needed.
If Lee would have worked on a 3 point shot the past several seasons, he would be a hugely marketable big. He should have seen the writing on the wall. That is another point, Kerr loves analytics and we all know that pounding it inside for two all day is something that is counter to what is efficient.
I don't expect him to be a Warrior next season. I know he was Lacob's favorite, but I think there are a few teams that will be interested in Lee this off season and he will be moved if the deal is at least a wash.

Re: Lee
Lee deserves to go on and do something for another team... he can still play in the league. He was such a great teammate and good soldier this year, we need to do him the solid and move him on. Plus, we have contract extensions to hand out.
