Noel/Stauskas for Thompson
A friend of mine thought of this deal earlier today...thought it'd be an interesting talking point.
Nerlens Noel
Nick Stauskas
for Klay Thompson
Would anyone here pull the trigger on this?

Re: Noel/Stauskas for Thompson
After drafting Looney(6'9, 7'4 wingspan, 9'2 reach) and Jones(7'0, 7'4 wingspan, 8'11 reach) in the first round the last two years why would we create a hole at SG just to fill a hole at C that we've already addressed?
Both Looney and Jones are lottery talents that fell to #30 because of injury concerns which is a brilliant use of our draft picks. Let's not ignore the great work our FO is doing.

yep Stauskas looks like a role player and Noel looks like a middle man's Kenyon Martin at this stage.

Re: Noel/Stauskas for Thompson
As suggested, no way would I do it.
If they got Boston involved and made it something like the following:
Warriors get Noel + Avery Bradley + protected #1
Boston gets Okafor
Philadelphia gets Klay
I'd listen to that. Not sure, but I'd have to think about that.

Why would you want to break up one of the best back courts the game has ever seen?
This just be a gag that I don't get.

It makes no sense at all. Offense aside Klay takes a huge load off Curry defensively.

That's the whole point behind ChuckDurn's suggestion, Bradley's one of the top perimeter defenders in the league, with even faster feet than Klay
I'd certainly entertain the idea... AB's got two years left @ a cheap $8M/per.
But thinkingwarriors's point about Looney/Jones makes lots of sense

There's not many players in the entire NBA id trade Klay for. It would have to be a "phuckin A" type offer to break up the splash brothers. Like, Karl Anthony Towns, Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, or else im not even considering it.
OP's trade would be an awful trade for the Warriors. I would laugh at that offer for Klay.

Thompson will be on of the best value contracts for the next 3yrs. Noel would be a backup and will get a big pay bump.

Two completely unproven players that have yet to earn any significant minutes on the court. I can just as easily tell you Pat McCaw can take the reigns at the 2 if that's the case.
And I don't think we've addressed the hole at Center at all. Zaza is a 20 minute per game Center signed on a one year deal...and then what? West? With Noel we'd instantly have our starting, defensive anchor at center for the next decade. I don't think this is as easy as a lot of you are making it seem.

I'd agree that Looney was a late lottery talent who fell. But Jones was never on the radar of being a lottery pick. In fact, he was pretty commonly thought to not even be a first-round pick. His injury happened very late in the process, but I'd love anybody to show me anywhere that had him in the top 20, at any point in the process.

Yep, you get it. Bradley is also an excellent shooter. He's probably a top-10 shooting guard on a great contract, and Noel would be a perfect fit at center.
But it's also hilarious that I didn't even say I'd do the deal, just that it's way more interesting and worth considering.... Yet a couple folks jumped down my throat. Sigh.....
