Looney moves like a 80 year old. His hips won't allow him to be a productive NBA player

Last year McGee and the rookie year of ezeli proved we can pretty much plug any athetlic big in and they will shine with our stars around them. Lobs and blocks with a little passing sprinkled in is all we need. Post ups are extinct in the bay.

We are actually pretty thin at wing. I know we're so star studded we don't really need the depth, but if iguodala, Livingston, and Clark get priced out of our range we're looking at McCaw only as a back up for 1-3 positions.

Our center position is actually are deepest when you consider KD and Green both are part of the rotation. Jones, bell and looney are pretty much centers as of now.

again, would love bogut here. But I'm thinking Myers is about go wing crazy in FA.

Looney might not even be on the roster opening night and Jones is a complete unknown. Myers is definitely going to make additions at center this offseason.

I heard Looney is playing Summer League? That could be an important step for him. In either direction.
The first game July 8 on ESPN at 7:30 against Philly, 2nd half of a doubleheader after Lakers/Celts. Second game versus Cleveland on NBA channel on July 10 at 5:30 2nd half dh after Phoenix/Houston.

Depends what C we can get for the min.

I'd pay Bogut 2 mil vet min over Zaza 4 mil to resign.

Bring Bogut back. We only need him to play 10 to 15 mins at the most

Count me in. Vet minimum. Bogut on the Warriors > Bogut on any other team. The picks he can set for Steph KD Klay  + playmaking. Would be hella fun to watch for the 10-15min he plays a game before he inevitably gimps out.

Don't want him so LeBron could not say GSW got another #1 pick and upgrade this super team. Hahaha.

He is one of the few former teammates who didn't post any congrats about our 2017 ring. Does he really have beef with the team? He did thank us for letting him pick between the Mavs and Rockets last summer... then it seems to have turned downhill from there.

The other one who didn't say anything is HB, which I can understand...

I guess, but 2 full years in the league and we're looking to evaluate him in summer league?? That's not a good sign. I mean the dude's Wikipedia page shows him in street clothes because no one's ever seen him on the court in uniform. I think he'll be out of the league within a year, but I hope I'm wrong.

If Bogs is willing to take the vet minimum as a back-up, sort of a mentor for Damian Jones, I'm OK with that. I just don't know if there is too much water under that bridge for him to come back. Can't see him as a starter at this stage of his career. I'd like to see someone like Dewayne Dedmon in the Zaza starting role and get about 20-24 minutes a game. Assuming we can't resign JaVale, and the rumors that West wants to come back are true, that puts Dedmon in the Zaza role and Bogut in the Javale role. And if Bogut can teach Damian the "tricks of the trade", see if Jones can work in some increasing minutes once Bogs goes down with his inevitable injury.

I completely agree. I referred to it as an important step only because as a vet, if he doesn't shine a little bit in these games it's probably aces for his chances of making the roster.

I understand the frustration with Zaza, but with Bogut's injury history and questionable toughness in the finals, I pass. Also, I believe there were frustrations the front office had with him burned that bridge.

Why? He's older and even more injury prone.

Sorry, radtech -- I wasn't being serious. Back in the bad old days, Mikki "Mister Mediocrity" Moore played and even occasionally started for us because our center position choices were so horrible. The rest of our fives were Biedrins (constantly injured and in sharp decline), Ronny Turiaf (tiny), and Anthony Randolph, an athletic but massively underperforming youngster.

Mikki Moore?

I was thinking more along the lines of Ronny Turiaf.

in response to a fan saying he knows Bogut is bitter how it ended, but wished Bogut would come back for the vet minimum to get another ring...

I love Bogut, but man I'm concerned for his health on a purely human level. I hope he goes into coaching or something soon.
