Never seen that before in a basketball court in an NBA game, lol, that was a standard flagrant 2. Wild flailing that resulted in a slap in the face. It wasn't intentional but of course intent doesn't matter for flagrant fouls.

Draymond knew Nurkic's head was in the area whether he was looking directly at it or not. He knew what he was doing. It's as ridiculous as when he kept kicking guys in the balls saying it's just part of his shot motion.

He got baited by Nurkic who tugged at his hips and kept him from going out to the sideline on an inbounds play.

He also got baited by Monk last March which led to a suspension and got baited by Sabonis who grabbed his leg in the playoffs which led to the stomp.

So opponents know how to get him thrown out of games plus get suspended.

No consequences for losing the Finals or for punching Poole.

So he knows he can do whatever the **** he wants.

This trade may come down to Baldwin vs TJD.
Baldwin is not playing so far this year.

We wanted Poole gone. Could w have gotten more than CP3? CP3 was a good choice for an attempt at the 2024 championship. We had to take back an overpaid player to move overpaid Poole. What younger than CP3 overpaid player did you want? Should we have kept Poole and hope that Poole could get over the punch? Should we have traded Draymond?

How do we start Poole who thinks he should start and Klay who might not take coming off the bench well? Start Klay at power forward and then at the 3 minute mark sub a real power forward in for whichever of Klay and Poole was playing worse?

Trading Poole was the right decision , acquiring CP3 was the wrong decision.
CP3 is 38 yo and he will retire after this season.
Poole had more value than that imo

You think that Poole definitely has a more positive offensive impact than CP3

Never said to keep Poole. Said this trade i.e. acquiring Chris Paul is the worst trade in the last 10 years. Even if we kept Poole and merely acquired Paul in a FA pickup, it’s still a pathetic move to add him.

The only thing Chris Paul brings to this team is more experience and a minute amount of less turnovers.

Otherwise, this is a horrible, terrible trade that dramatically slows down our offense when he’s on the floor.

We will score less. The defense will not improve solely with his addition.

Such a strong stance on this trade, will be interesting if you're willing to fall on your sword if it works out.

And he's taking a victory lap as he bounces from PPG to DRtg.. lol like a child trying to get away with something

Offense last year: 8th
Offense this year: 8th

Defense last year: 17th
Defense this year: 15th

Now the Warriors have a flexible trade chip or a way to completely erase the salary

CP3 was better offensively and defensively than Poole this year to boot

What an own goal

CP was a fail and this was pretty much a wasted year.

Yeah but they got off Poole's contract.

Was he a fail or was how kerr used him was the fail?

Expecting him to defend and rebound in 3 and 4 guard units was too much to ask, especially in clutch time. That aside, I thought cp3 played well this year.

This alone is a win. I'd bet CP isn't here next season.

If you filter out his clutch minutes, most of which are of 3/4G lineups in the 4th, his metrics shoot up. At least the ones that can be tracked like that (RPM/RAPM/BPM). Almost a full point in 2 cases (RPM/BPM)..

But I guarantee no one thought CP3 was going to get 26mpg.. that's coaching malpractice

Safest bet of the offseason. The only chance he's retained is if he returns on a vet min contract, and why would he? He's still looking for a ring, so no point in returning here. Plus have to wonder if the Warriors even want that for free, considering Podz is going to need a clear path

- CP3 was a good backup point guard this year.
- His contract was one of the only in the league that could wipe out Poole's.
- His contract isn't just expiring, it has potential to get us assets this offseason.
- Poole was one of the worst players in the NBA this year.
- Baldwin had like 5 good garbage lineup games, but was awful and nonexistent overall.
- Baldwin was not traded for Poole, he was traded for TJD. Who would we rather have?
- They did get a steal in Rollins. No wait, it was Rollins doing the stealing.

When I saw this thread pop back up I assumed it was for everyone to confirm that this worked out fantastic.

Hard to see them keeping that money on the books.

I agree. But it is an option, even using a smaller part of it.

The second unit was better than the starters in many games.

Presumably that had a lot to do with CP, though once Saric stopped playing, he didn't get as many easy assists.

As president of the NBAPA, I don't think he'd take vet minimum deals. Some team will give him the MLE at least.

Chris Paul was like D’Angelo Russel just a preservation of our ability to have one of the league’s highest salaries. We turned Russell into Wiggins. Now we turn Chris Paul into something that enables Cuury to win 1st round playoff series as he ages towards retirement.
Or we let Chris Paul walk without turning his salary into a good player in which case Curry never wins another playoff series.
