Warriors sign Nelson,Dowell, and Kurz

Post#1 » by S3n1le_N3ls0n » Tue Sep 9, 2008 11:36 pm

How many make the team? None really impressed me in SL. Odds that any of them crack the rotation are slim...meaningless signings imo

Nelson is a CJ Disaster - Horror Story clone

Dowell is a Barnes-French Trainwreck clone

Kurz is a Pat Burke clone..

I see Kurz getting 20+ preseason minutes per game.

If all the signings are at the minimum, my best guess is that they total to 2.4m...why couldnt we use that on Livingston?

Warriors can bring 20 into camp. I believe Ellis counts, whether he's actually in camp or not because he has a guaranteed deal. So with Perovic out, W's have 14 + 3 = 17

They can bring in 3 more if they wish.....

I wish there would have been some sort of recap of the livingston workout. I guess it couldn't have been too good considering multiple teams were present and he still doesn't have a deal.
Nelson is a CA product, but overall I don't see much in this group

I feel like the Warriors is the only team that always recruits new faces every year.
But they need veterans...

I wish.

Azu,Watson,Barnes,Pietrus are guys who have SOME resume. Azu,Barnes have each got a 30 pt NBA game on the resume,I don't know if Pete ever topped 30 but was over 25 a few times. Watson,at least has topped 10 in the NBA and was a big D league scorer. Nelson-Kurz-Dowell will be lucky if combined they even match Burke in terms of NBA minutes or points. If one of them ever scores 10+ in an NBA game,I'd probably start goin' to church.

This crew is just for having enough guys for preseason scrimages. Morrow is the Barnes/Azu sleeper find this year. Kurz MIGHT have a slim chance as a 6-9 guy with a J but there's other better options if we are looking to have a filler for the minutes Kosta played. Not a big role, in that I spent as long typing this as Kosta spent in games. :)

Kurz will have a bald spot by December..

DeMarcus Nelson is the only one with hope... he actually can defend when he wants to. Don't let him touch the ball on offense..

Dowell's garbage... what does the team see in him? He looked like crap to me in the SL...

I watched Dion Dowell play in many games at UH. He has crazy athleticism and can stroke it from the 3. He had some nasty dunks in college and can provide a good spark off the bench. His game is comparable to Shawn Marion. I hope he pans out for you guys.

here's one of his dunks against kentucky. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=up8BmamG0uc

I like Kurz.

If only for the novelty of uttering, the horror....the horror.....every time he steps on the court.

Good one! Someone's been watching Apocolypse Now over and over again.

So one day Costa and the Warriors part ways and Costa's salary is taken off the books. The next day Mully signs 3 scrubs to possibly fight for one roster spot.

If Monta's contract is voided, I wonder how long it will take Mully to spend the money.

Every team signs these non-guaranteed deals to get some warm bodies for training camp, where you carry more than 15 players. None of those guys will be on the team. The money is not actually spent.

Just read this morning that DeMarcus Nelson is the all time scorer in high school in California. Had no idea.

The guy can't make a jump shot. Further proving how inept the California basketball seen is in high school.

The jump between HS basketball and college basketball is HUGE. HS basketball now looks like street ball to me.. these kids would rather put a dunk down on someone than win the game. Its become a status booster in the HS/College level, and some complete morons (Melo) still use it like that in the NBA...
