What are your reads on Wright and Hill? To be frank Demaryius Thomas is the perfect player comparison to Hill, same play style, same athleticism..... But what about Wright, Ive heard he is a great slot WR, but other than that I don't know much about him...

I think Wright will be terrific. All year people had him ranked highly as he caught passes from RG3. But at the Combine, he ran a 4.6 and people were down on him. At Pre Day he was back in the 4.4's so he is back on track to be a 1st rounder. I can see him as a slot. Hill is lightening fast and tall. He will likely go late 1st, but I wish he lasted until our 2nd. Hill is the guy I really like if we traded back and had a pick in the mid 20's. I'd love a solid CB and WR wout of the 1st 2 rounds if we were lucky.

Wow Trent Richardson ran a 4.43 40 at his pro day, knocked the **** out of the pad holders on blocking practice (literally the guy flew to the ground).... He was expected to run a 4.52 so the 4.43 is just huge for him. I have a feeling Richardson could be a HOF RB

One of the analysts on Path to the Draft on NFL Network called Justin Blackmon more Anquan Boldin and Michael Floyd more Larry Fitzgerald, if that is the case hopefully we are taking a long look at Floyd.

I think Floyd would be terrific, too. But in an ideal world, we would find a way to trade back 3-4 spots, pick up a 2nd rounder, and grab Floyd with our 1st. That would be awesome. Love the idea of grabbing a solid big WR to play opposite Smith, maybe Janoris Jenkins in the early 2nd as a great CB addition, and then maybe a LB with another 2nd. Someone like Zack Brown from UNC. Hit on 3 areas of need in the 1st two rounds. I know so many think DT is a major need, but the 2 Rookies did OK and will improve, and our FA signing from last season will be ready to fill the spot now that he is back from injury.

What do you think about Gilmore if we trade back?

Gilmore is a solid CB, but will go in the last 3rd of the 1st round. Will not make it to the 2nd round. There is a better chance, IMO, of Jenkins making it to the 2nd, simply because of his history. I like Jenkins not only because of his defensive skills, but he can be a dangerous kick returner as well.

I would love to trade back up too 7 spots if we could get 2 firsts or a 1st&2nd&3rd in the deal. Most of the guys I like in the 1st either are picked in the top 5 spots or are selected at or around 15.

Guys I like (for Carolina)
Whitney Mercilus: The guy is soo explosive- but seriously this dude had to be pissed at his mom for naming him Whitney- what a d*ck move by his parents.

Justin Blackmon: Not a burner but a highly skilled WR who should contribute immediately.

Morris Claiborne: could immediately play at a Pro-bowl level.

Luke Kuelchy: the second coming of Brian Urlacher

Stephen Gilmore: Great Athlete who would be a HUGE HUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGE upgrade over Captain.

Brian Quick: Doesnt get a 1st round grade- but he has INSANE catching ability, a great vertical, and would be a solid 3rd WR (and eventually a possible 1st). He out-shined every other WR at the senior bowl and was absolutely killing opposing WRs.

Looking at some recent mocks, I am starting to see a good bit of Ingram, Coples and now Kuechly for us at #9. Saw 1 MIchael Floyd. Seem to be seeing less of the DT options lately for us at #9.

I'm a SC fan and I personally would not want to see Stephon Gilmore on this team. Guy doesn't give a **** and he's more DeAngelo Hall than quality corner; heavy hitter but doesn't care about coverage. I'd rather take Antonio Allen with our fourth rounder or trade up to the end of the third to grab him. He was light-years better than Gilmore at DB last year for SC. Gilmore could give us some wildcat play though and would make a good safety.

I don't even want us going near a LB with our first pick. We've had so many issues with them; it's just not worth it. However, Ingram and Coples should be the two guys we target. No need to grab Floyd when we can possibly grab Alshon or one of the other 1st round WR talents that will fall to the second round. But, to be honest, I doubt we take a WR early anyway. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see Hurney take another App. State player in Quick. Wouldn't be surprised at all.

I know so many think DT is a major need, but the 2 Rookies did OK and will improve, and our FA signing from last season will be ready to fill the spot now that he is back from injury.

People forget that. I can't see us taking another DT early with the two picks we took last year and Ron Edwards. Plus we have other guys that played well last year and I don't feel there's an "elite" DT prospect that would really make a difference for us.

The only WR's I would touch in the 1st round are Hill and Blackmon. In the 2nd I wouldn't want Alshon- as Quick is virtually the same player plus some added speed, better hands, and more raw talent.

On ESPN Sport Science they were really raving about Michael Floyd, SportsCenter also said in one of the guys mock drafts they had him going 10th so us drafting him would not really be a reach at all. With Cam, our RB's, TE's, Steve Smith, LaFell our offense would be an unstoppable machine, I think we will really regret if we pass on Floyd! We can get a DT in FA.

The good guys in free agency are all but taken- that stated I don't like any of the DT's in this years draft enough to pick them in the top 10 or even top 20 for that matter.

Tell you what. Wonder if these guys who do the Mocks have any inside info. I am seeing a whole lot of Mocks having us take Fletcher Cox, the Miss. St. DT, at #9. And I mean A LOT of them.
