Game #1 Seattle at Carolina

Post#1 » by ohara » Sun Sep 8, 2013 2:11 pm

It is finally here! The new season starts today. Ready for some football. If the Panthers play their game, they can upset the Seahawks and start off right. DeAngelo has to be a factor, Cam has to be accurate and make GOOD decisions, and the Defense has to be strong and stay disciplined. If that happens, we win. If we cannot pressure their QB, we are in trouble.

Late in the 2nd and the Panthers score a TD to take a 7-3 lead. Defense is playing strong against a good Seattle team. Cam is 10 of 14 for 87 yards and a TD. No INT. Making good decisions, but one pass could have been picked off but the defender dropped it. Play smart Cam.

7-3 at the Half. Frank Alexander got ejected for throwing a punch after we sacked Wilson which would have made it 3rd and about 25. Gave them a 1st. Got into the red zone, but Charles Johnson got a sack, strip and fumble recovery to keep the Panther lead safe til the half.

Stupid! Panthers force a put on opening possession, but a defender was not paying attention. Ball hit him and Seahawks recover. Penalty on Seattle puts the ball at midfield, but Seattle ball still. Just a stupid play of Josh Thomas not paying attention.

Defense steps up and forces a punt. Huge by the defense! Great playing so far. Need the offense to score again to feel a little better.

Panthers lead 7-6 at the end of 3rd qtr. Panthers with the ball, 2nd and 20 from their own 32. Need to keep the ball and score a TD to have a little breathing room.

Twice Armond Smith has been called for Personal Foul on punts for going out of bounds and not getting back in quickly enough. What an idiot. He might be off the team tomorrow. Panther players are getting all in his face for making such a stupid mistake 2x in the same game.

On review, just a 5 yard penalty as he ran out on his own and DID come back immediately. Still, stupid play.

Seattle with a TD pass to take the lead with 10 minutes to go. They go for 2 pt conversion and miss. Seattle lead is 12 - 7. Cam better do something, and NOW!

Panthers got it down inside the 10 and DeAngelo fumbles. That is twice he fumbled today. The first time the ball went out of bounds. But he just does not take care of the ball at times, and that is a killer. Makes me want to give up on him. Defense needs a stop with a big 3 and out. Only 6 minutes to go now. Defense has to step up as they have all game long.

DeAngelo is the goat in this one if we lose. He is praying the defense can get a big stop. 2nd and 15 at the Seahawk 3. Now 3rd and 3 at the 15 with 4:35 to go. Need a stop!!!! And they get a 1st. This may be over.

Another game lost after Carolina had a 4th qtr lead. The same old crap, new year. This stinks. But the good thing is the defense played strong and Cam made no stupid mistakes. This loss falls on DeAngelo for fumbling inside the Seahawk 10 when we were primed to score a TD and take the lead.
