Game#2 Carolina at Buffalo

Post#1 » by ohara » Wed Sep 11, 2013 4:40 pm

This one wont be as easy as first thought. Buffalo has a good young QB who is going to be a handful to keep in check. This one could go either way. The offense has to open it up a bit and give Cam the freedom to get the ball down field. They did not in the Seattle game and it hurt us.

Garry Williams went down for the year last week, and that puts us an OT down. They filled the roster spot with a DT, bringing back Sione Fua who was one of the final cuts. Guess that means they expect Silatolu to be back from his hamstring.

Yeah I'm more confident that after Carolina's defense played pretty good against Seattle last Sunday. It's obvious what Carolina has to do this Sunday. They were very conservative and still had a chance to win the ball game. Limit the fumbles and let Cam air it out more down the field and I see Carolina winning 27-17.

Panthers had a stagnant offense until the close of the half. TD pass to Olsen gives Panthers a 7-3 lead. Newton has 150 yards with a TD and an INT.

Dear God, Panthers dropping like flies. Josh Thomas gone with a concussion and Godfrey gone with a leg injury. Others hurt but still trying to play. This is pathetic. Cannot afford anymore injuries. Now a 7-6 Panther lead early in the 3rd.

Williams has 3.5 sacks, but a holding call on a punt gave Carolina the ball back. Newton hits Ginn for a 40 yard TD and Panthers lead 14-6. Newton is 16/28 for 199 yards and 2 TD's with 1 INT.

That did not last long. Big catch and run by Stevie Johnson, and then a subsequent TD run and 2 pt conversion. Game tied at 14-14 with 4 minutes to go in the 3rd.

Panthers punt. Sack and forced fumble gives Panthers the ball at the Bills 16. Now, get a TD!!!!!

1st and Goal at the 5, and they had to settle for a FG. 17-14 lead. Again, another game the Panthers lead in the 4th. If they lose again, the Rivera firing watch will be on. Just cannot continue to lead games in the 4th qtr and keep losing. Panthers MUST win this one in order to keep Mr. Richardson happy with Rivera. Must win.

Kuechly with a big INT! Panthers have the ball again starting at the Bill's 26! Get a TD this time!!!!

Huge 3rd down play by Cam gets 1st at the 12. Cannot get a 1st, and have to settle for another FG. Defense is playing great, but the offense is disappointing us. 20-14 lead, but lots of time left. I can totally see a late drive by the Bills costing us. If it does, it will be another sickening loss. You CANNOT settle for FG's on back to back 1st and goal drives set up by turnovers deep in the opposition's territory. You HAVE to get TD's. Panthers are 2-13 in games decided by 7 pts or less. That is NOT acceptable.

7:13 to go and Panthers lead 20-17. Cam needs to get a drive going to use time and score a TD to seal this victory. No FG's. And please no 3 and out and make sure we do not turn the ball over.. First play gains 15 to the 35 yard line. Nice play. Williams has 4.5 sacks today. Please, no more! Panthers have a 3rd and 2 at their 43. even if a punt puts Buffalo deep, not going to be happy Need a 1st. Cam runs for it!!!! Great play!!! Time now at 4:30 and counting. Make Buffalo use those timeouts!

Panthers have it 1st down at the Bill's 30 with 2 minutes to go. Bills have all 3 TO's left, Make them use them, get another 1st and the game will be won. Do not like the idea of a FG and giving Buffalo a shot to win. 3rd and 5 at the 25. They play conservative and run and it is 4th and 2 at the 22. Buffalo uses last TO. Panthers will try a 39 yard FG. It's good. 23-17 with 1:38 left and 0 timeouts, and a Rookie QB.

If we lose on a TD, I fire Rivera tonight. If we win, I am happy. Let's see what happens. Kickoff will give the Bills the ball at the 20. 80 yards will win the game for Buffalo. Bills get to their 40 for a 1st with 1:10. Now at Panther 46 after Kuechly misses tackle. But an incomplete pass now stops clock with 40 seconds at Panther 46. Now at the Panther 35 with 34 seconds. Incomplete pass almost picked off. 2nd down. Almost a sack 2x, 3rd at the 31. Panthers pick off the pass at the 10, but a Pass Interference call against Kuechly gives ball at 11 with 10 seconds. 6 seconds left, ball at the Panther 2. TD to a wide open Stevie Johnson with 2 seconds left on blown coverage Hail Mary from their 39, but Cam is sacked.

I give up on this team and this coach. Panthers lose 24-23. Just fire everyone!

Yeah, this team has too much talent, and especially over the past few years for them to be losing close games like this. I think if Carolina isn't at least 4-4 or better at the half way mark, Rivera is gone.

Rivera sucks and wasn't good to begin with. I'm already over this season and the Panthers will probably get spanked by the G-men this weekend. There's no way Eli doesn't destroy an already dismantled Carolina secondary. Oh well.
