Bears run a system that rotates their tackles and we lost two in the offseason. Paea remains a question mark and Melton and Toeaina are the only other guys on the roster. Thompson and Martin just seemed to make too much sense here to me. We just continue to go to the well again with another safety pick. Just saw where Biggs tweeted this is the 3rd consecutive year we've spent on 3rd rd pick on a safety and 8th consecutive year overall in which we've picked one. Not Emery's fault of course but jeez....

And I won't lie... the white thing bothers me. Sue me.

Do not like the safety...no impact on next years team except on special teams...

Love the WR pick...should be an immediate impact.

Emery acknowledges #Bears drafted Brandon Hardin as a safety, says he is medically sound.

So there's that at least.

Guy looks like a physical specimen, but the question is, is he a FOOTBALL player. Hope he isn't a Jarron Gilbert.

He's going to contribute on ST and hopefully grow into a starting safety. I was highly impressed with Conte last year and Steltz was actually good in run support from what I saw. I'm willing to wait & watch a player before I start labeling them a terrible pick.

well, I've been on the value pick bandwagon. Hardin probably should have been a 4th rounder. This kind of drafting is playing with fire..... you leave talent on the board and constrict your ultimate talent aquisition when inevitsably some of these guys fail. Unless Emery is way smarter than all the other GMs out there and has a legendary draft. Which is expecting a lot.

The Lovie Smith defensive scheme relies on at least one dominant pass rushing end, a dominant weak-side LB, & a dominant safety.

We keep looking for a safety every year, but I don't understand why we're spending a 3rd round pick on an injury-prone one. We should have learned from our history with Mike Brown, but Lovie must think that Hardin is the next Adam Archuletta.

Yeah, I'm just qualifying it with saying I would've preferred a different position with the pick. He may turn out just fine - have no idea and will wait and see like the rest of us.

I could conceivably turn to prepubescent schoolboy crush mush and get googly eyed at the first 2 tweets. The last one is Rich. Bananas. Emery is in the wrong business. He should own a major auto dealership and do funny commercials like Bob Rohrman.

I just hope that Emery is pulling the strings on this draft and not Lovie.

Lovie's telling him what he needs. Emery's finding the guys.

I know I remember Lovie saying we needed a safety this offseason either in the draft of FA.
