If Angelo wasn't fired.....

How do you think free agency & the draft would have gone? Who would JA havesigned? Would we have Marshall? What 4th round gem would he have snagged and would he have busted out in the 1st round again?

If Angelo made this draft, he couldn't leave his house.
And I feel safe in thinking he would not have traded for Marshall. He might have drafted more receivers, but then again the offense didn't seem to he much of a priority to him. If he left Cutler exposed and alone this long already, apparently he was clueless

Who cares, really?
Joakim Noah is better than you think he is.

I'm not sure, tough to know because he might have drafted more immediate help because he knew his job was on the line.

Emery's philosophy, he said, is to find players with growth potential, who make plays, who play like they love football. "I want the players with the high ceilings, with the largest capacity for growth,'' he said. "And I believe every aspect of that player is on tape. You can see him, you can read him.''

He aggressively moved to get two receivers that he loved on tape. He moved up in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft to tab Alshon Jeffery, but the biggie was trading two 3rd round picks for 3 time Pro Bowler Brandon Marshall.

Marshall is arguably one of the most productive wide outs in the game today. In the last five years there are only three players with 80+ receptions and 1,000+ yards in each of those seasons, Marshall, Larry Fitzgerald, and Roddy White. So getting him for a paltry couple of thirds was a steal, or a gamble if you take into account his past. Something Emery obviously did.

"People have the capacity to change,'' Emery said. "He's an intelligent guy, and he's accepted his faults, and he's working toward improving them. I thought about it a lot. Isn't that what we'd want out of our children? They might stumble, but when they do, they seriously try to improve their lives. We felt if there was a place Brandon would fit, it was here.''

Angelo believed for the most part that the floor of his aquisitions was more important than the ceiling. And also did not feel comfortable rolling the dice on guys like Tank Johnson, and probably was scarred by the experience. Emery conversely will take risks on guys with higher ceilings like Jeffery. Although I must admit Shea McClellin feels like an Angelo pick. But James Brown who is a floor guy but has lots of risk because he failed the drug test does not seem like Angelo either. Hardin and Rodriguez are probably more ceiling boom or bust guys too. Most of this draft would be different, focused on floor players, and Marshall would not have been pursued. And I don't see Angelo altering because his job was on the line. He would have taken comfort from the Bears going 7-3 before Cutler got hurt.
