Devin Hester & Bears Part Ways

Post#1 » by Hangtime84 » Thu Mar 6, 2014 2:53 am

To all my Chicago people...I can't thank you all enough for my time in Chicago. I've always said I wanted to retire a Chicago Bear but sometimes things don't work out the way we would like. Chicago will always hold a special place in my heart and if I am fortunate enough to break the return record, we will have all broken it together...no matter where I am. Thank you again and God Bless.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

:(

He's getting old, probably wanted too much money, and we can probably get a better return specialist, but still..

It's sad in a nostalgic sense, but it's not worth paying him just to be a return guy.

Wow hate to see Hester go but we couldnt afford him at that age to salary ratio . Ive got a feeling by the end of the season we will be saying we have no return game and will need to find a guy to return kicks

Hester is a legend.

You don't appreciate the tap water in Chicago until you go somewhere else and try theirs.

Is this an appreciation thread? Cause there should be one.

Devin Hester was my idol for quite a long stretch. As a Bears fan, I never felt more excitement at one moment than watching him return one for a TD on the opening kickoff of the Super Bowl! (it didn't last that game, but he gave me a memory I'll never forget).

Hester is a Bears legend, the BEST there ever was at his craft. Without a doubt the most electrifying player in the NFL when he was at his best (a 3-4 year window early on). It's going to be very unfortunate seeing him in another uniform, but I'm going to wish him the very best and hope he continues to add to his return record.

Hester is a return legend and Bears legend.
The dude flat out won us some games and made Denny Green flip the %^&%&^ out--which continues to provide fun to watch years later.

Returning the KO opening play in the superbowl--holy &^%$ this dude is just a bad man.

But with the cap and having to pay Jay his money--i can see why we can't keep him--still sucks

I understand the move. The salary cap, his age, kickoff rule changes, and his snaps being limited to special teams all dictated this. But he was a great Bear and the GOAT of returners.

Haters hate, appreciaters appreciate, and alligators allegate. And I am neither a hater nor an alligator.

With (Earl) Bennett on punt return, Eric Weems on kickoff return, and Michael Ford on both, I think we'll be fine.

Hester was someone Da Bears should have kept.

This will come back to bite us.

Although I'm a bigger Bulls fan than Bears fan, I can honestly say that the most unforgettable and exciting sports moment I've ever had was when Hester ran back the opening kickoff in the Superbowl. Hester is a Bears legend and I hope's successful wherever he goes.

If you ever have time, Youtube videos of fan reactions to the Superbowl kickoff return. It's great.

Hey how come you don't post on the Bulls board anymore?

The Rose bashing last year and the Boozer fanboys got too much to handle for me. I still read the board tho.

Ah gotcha.

Yeah that Rose stuff got out of hand. It has gotten better though.
