Offense should be elite, like it was last year. Defense should be improved, considering every offseason move was used to improve the defense, but not that great considering it was atrocious last year. Jay Cutler should throw some interceptions because he's Jay Cutler.

I say we lose in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

10-6 record.

Bears make playoffs, but will find they miss Devin Hester in the return game.

If Jay Cutler gets hurt, all bets are off, especially with Josh McCown in Tampa.

I think Bears go 11-5

Defense will be top 15 and Bears will be contenders for the Super Bowl.

Bold Prediction: IF Cutler gets hurt, The QB guru will do to Jimmy Clausen what he did to Josh Mccown. Remember, Mccown had a low ass career QB rating before last year, and had more interceptions than TDs for his career.

I expect us to be in every game this year. The offense will remain top 5, the defense will be top 15. I think our true test will be week 2 vs SF. That game IMO will show if we are SB contenders or just playoff contenders. I also expect a split with the Pack.
Prediction: 10-6, making playoffs.

Week 2 doesn't prove anything. It's a long season. If that was maybe later in the year, I would agree with you.

With the new and improved D, Chicago goes 11-5.

Offense is top 5 but somewhat of a disappointment after a few injuries slowed them down.

Team Awards:

Offensive MVP: Cutler
Defensive MVP: Allen
Rookie of the year: Fuller

Biggest surprise: Shea
Biggest disappointment: MD Jennings

I'm not expecting more from the offense. I expect other teams will have them better scouted this year. So, I'm hoping they can just match last year.

As for the D, just don't give up easy drives. Make stops, get turnovers. They don't need to be dominant. They just can't let the better teams march down the field - especially at the end.

I have a hard time imagining how the D doesn't improve - short of a freak series of injuries. This is Tucker's time to shine, so I expect a marked change on defense.

10-6 and a wild card is my guess.

That prediction IS bold considering how much Clausen was coughing up the ball in that first scrimmage.

10-6 and a wildcard berth. We make it to the second round of the playoffs.

I think we are better than a 10-6 team, but we have a tougher than average schedule. I don't think many teams improved as much as the Bears have, but if I were to name a few that were close... two of them would be Green Bay and Detroit. I think our defense will be top half and our offense will be top 3, but I don't share the sentiment that "if only our defense is average we'll be Super Bowl Contenders." There are some stacked teams out there. Here's how I see this shaking out:

In the division: I see us winning 3-4 games. I think it will be 4.
Vs. the NFC South: I see us winning 3 games. I think Carolina will slide a bit.
Vs. the AFC East: I see us winning 3 games. NE will be a demon on the road.
Vs. the other two NFC teams: SF will be a long shot. Dallas we usually have success against. 1-1

That is 11 games, but I'll factor in one disappointing loss somewhere and settle on 10.
