Paea, Houston, Ferguson, Sutton and Washington would all be DEs. Ratliff would be our NT after putting on some weight, just like back when he played for Dallas. Allen, Young, McClellin and Bass would be OLBs. Bostic, Jones and Briggs - if we keep him - would be ILBs.

Draft a true NT in round 1 to make Ratliff the backup.
Draft an ILB to create more competition in round 2.
Draft a man-coverage CB in round 3 to pair with Fuller going into the future (Marcus Peters will he there even though he is a top 4 CB in this draft).
Draft a coverage safety to compete with Mundy, Vereen and whoever we sign in free agency (whether that's Conte or someone else).

If the coaches and Emery think that Allen can't play OLB we can cut him and bring in an OLB or let our young LBs compete for that spot.

If we stay in 4-3 our top needs are LB, CB and Safety - all at similar levels of urgency.

If we switch to 3-4 then NT immediately becomes our greatest need.

If switching to a 3-4 requires our top 4 picks to go D we should reconsider. We need to keep our offensive pipeline up too. Definitely an OL early.

We can address one of those four needs in free agency.

I said the same thing about DJax last year and I'll say it about about Harvin, If we can get him for the right price we should try to sign him. DJax has a contract valued at 24 mil and a 2014 cap hit of 4.25 mil. If we can get Harvin for a price like that I think it would be worth one less defensive guy for all the benefits he would bring. He's one of the best deep threats in the NFL. All the screens, sweeps and end-arounds Trestman tries with Alson and Marshall would be a lot better with Harvin. And finally since he'd be our third WR he can be our full time returner.

Although I am in favor in keeping trestman, i don't see how we do with all these reports of him not having the locker room. It would be amazing to get Ryan and Harbaugh

mike shanahan will probably be a serious candidate and he might be the only one strongly in favor of keeping cutler.

For what exact reason are you in favor of keeping Trestman?

I don't two years are enough to determine whether he is a good enough coach or not. Although this year has been a complete mess, I think most of that is on Cutler. We were the best team in the division with McCown last season running the second best offense in the NFL.

No, it's way more than enough. We don't need to see anymore to know he sucks. His ****/predictable play calling isn't all on Cutler.

This man needs to be fired. There is a trend with this guys offenses being worse in the 2nd year. On top of that, he has no clue how to be a leader of a team. Under Trestman there is no leadership or accountability. Most of the entire locker has quit or is giving very little effort. That's not all because of Jay Cutler.

And before we just make it about this year, there were glaring coaching issues even last year that bring to light just how bad he is. Kicking the FG on 2nd down against the Vikings. Playing Cutler against the Lions last year when he was no where near ready to play after he was recovering from his Surgery. I'm sure there is more if we go back and look.

I seriously have no clue why ANYONE would think he needs another chance. :-?

Had three tackles, one for an 11-yard loss.

Honestly, he's been misused. He's a good third-down pass-rush specialist, maybe also a decent SLB.

My thoughts for the draft:
Bears trade #7 overall pick to Cleveland for #12 and #19 overall picks.

Draft:
1A. MLB/FB Shaq Thompson
1B. CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu
2. CB Marcus Peters
3. SS Jaquiski Tartt
4. FB Jalston Fowler
6. G Matt Rotheram
7. C Jake Smith

^Cleveland wont do 12+19 for 7 unless they get Bears 2nd round pick, or, next yrs 1st as well. Browns might do their 12th and 2nd round pick though, which would be more than fair if you refer to the draft value chart NFL gms use http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/Value-Chart.php .

McClellin had 1 sack the entire season...

When are we gonna drop the myth that he's a pass rusher?

Frankly, I can't think of a single thing he does well.

He's had two multi-sack games against the Packers (1.5 in 2012, 3.0 in 2013), he also has has some darn good games against the Cowboys and Patriots in 2014, not to mention, that TFL against the Vikings in Week 17 was a beaut (costing an offense 11 yards and a down is NOT bad, IMO).

He's still worth a look.

There three scenarios that I think are possible when it comes to the Cutler situation.

First, and what I think it most likely, is that the new GM and coach want to see what they can do with Cutler. I hope that Cutler preforms at a high level and wins games but there is no evidence that would support an argument saying that Cutler can do that. If teams are willing to trade for him this season, then there are teams who are going to trade for him next season. We'll most likely get a lower pick for him but the available QBs are amazing next season. Some of the available possible replacements for Cutler;
Eli Manning
Roethlisberger
Rivers
Bradford
Newton
Tannehill
Foles
Osweiler
Wilson and Luck are also FA but there is 0 percent chance they leave.

Second, We trade Cutler this season for preferably high first round pick(s) and getting Hoyer to replace him. If we can end up with two real high 1st or three total firsts we can reload our defense and sign Hoyer to a 8-10 mil contract that would give us even more money to spend on the defense. Hoyer has done nothing but win with little to no talent so i assume he can win with Marshall, Alson, Bennett and forte.

Third, we trade cutler and replace him with a rookie QB.

Scenario Two is the best, followed by scenario one. I don't think scenario three would be a good idea.

That said, if RG3 gets cut by the Redskins... I'd get him, and then trade Cutler. RG3 AND Matt Forte, with Marshall, Jeffrey, and Bennett to throw to... :D

Why do you want to draft Ekpre-Olomu AND Marcus Peters when we already have one of the best young CBs in the game?? Plus at least one of them will be available in the third round. Peters was kicked off his team and Ekpre-Olomu tore his ACL. One of them may realistically fall to day 3 of the draft. We need to solid our front 7. All of our LBS are below average to average, two of our defensive ends had serious leg injuries (torn acl and torn Achilles) and our third is old.

Defensive Ends:

Young - turned out to he a real bright spot for our defense. Tore his Achilles at the end of the season. Hopefully he can pick up where he left off.

Houston - was extremely ineffective as a 4-3 defensive end before his torn acl. Would benefit from a switch to 3-4.

Jared Allen - played well but saw some double teams. When he did get by his blocker the qb would get rid of the ball because we had a dumb, soft zone coverage scheme. Slowed down near the end of the season. Will benefit from fewer snaps.

Washington and Bass - showed some good moves and pursuit
