2015 Draft

Post#1 » by emperorjones » Tue Aug 18, 2015 11:21 pm

What are your early thoughts on the 2015 draft now that camp is over?

Obviously KW injury is a real downer - but aside from that, it looks like we may have pulled 4 potential/eventual starters (White, Goldman, Grasu and now Amos) and Langford a possible solid rotational RB . IF that comes to pass, it would be solid-, given our past drafts (10+ years).

I'm actually most excited about Amos. With Ed Donatell, Vic Fangio & Fox's defensive minds deciding he's already earned first team reps over Mundy & Vereen - it could bode very well for us in the secondary if he pans out to actually be the starter.

I was under the opinion that Amos was getting a shot with the first team as a part of the process of giving all the safeties a shot? Granted I know nothing about the guy, but I'd be more than happy if he has been rated above Mundy and Vereen and declared the new first-stringer.

Too early to tell, but you're right, it seems like we have some decent potential from it.

I like Langford's potential. The guy has really good burst around the corners though he does need to work being able to play through more contact.

Maybe add a little more bulk/strength would help with that.

I'm pretty happy with these guys. We actually drafted guys who were top at their positions in college and not guys who could be sleepers.

Agreed. Grassu is the best at his position without a doubt. White is definitely at least second best with the potential to be the best. Goldman is definitely at least the second best NT behind Shelton. Shelton had better stats but isn't nearly as athletic and got most of his numbers against weak competition.
