Carson Palmer traded to Raiders

The Bengals, in return, receive a 1st-round pick in 2012 and a 2nd-round pick in 2013 that becomes a first-rounder if Oakland wins a playoff game this year.

Some initial thoughts:

-Uh, whoa.
-Not that we couldn't figure this out, but Mike Brown could be bought after all. Didn't hurt that the Raiders gave up the farm for him.
-By my count, Cincy's going to have at least six picks in the first four rounds, possibly five in the first three if Joseph works out to a compensatory third-rounder. That's a lot of ammunition to deal with.
-Has to make Andy Dalton feel better, without the looming specter of Carson Palmer over his every move. (Dalton's a pro, though, and he wouldn't care, but it's still a bit of a lift.)
-The 2012 draft class is a little shaky, but having two first-round picks means having the opportunity to draft impact players right away.
