great game by the rockets. their defense specially late in the 4th quarter is money. they struggled executing on offense late in the game but their defense kept the lead.

Lowry looks good in his 2nd game back. a back court featuring Lowry and Dragic really works well for us and Dragic has been playing out of his mind since he got in the starting role. I really like the make up of our team. I love the fact that our Rockets team is getting back to their defensive ways. We a solid roster and a solid rotation.

Looks like we might miss on DAL pick and NY has strong chance of missing lottery.

God no! Martin expires next year and is still serviceable but just does not fit this team. You can still get a draft pick for him. Save the Amnesty clause on Scola in the final year of the deal

I have given up on this, at this point its hoping against hope. I just pretend he is not on the team, its soo much fun...

Until I catch a glimpse of him in street clothes or in the huddle. Next year can't come fast enough

seriously. a healthy prime Yao would have been the perfect player to our current roster.

Dragic-Lee-Lowry
Parsons/Budinger
Scola/Patterson
Yao/Camby

that's one hell of a playoff rotation right there.

Oh BTW, did anyone notice Matt Bullard say something about K-Mart...

he was talking about how Jamal Crawford has been a scorer in this league his whole career and that he can draw fouls when gets to the basket. Then i could have sworn he said something like, Kevin Martin is the same way, he used to play for the rockets ?!

So is a guard rotation of

Dragic/Lowry
Lee/Lowry/Budinger

good enough? Seemed to work well so far. I like keeping Lowry and Dragic together unless we get some kind of serious upgrade at one of our positions by trading them.

I am not against Lowry, nor am I rooting against him.

We have 2 great starting PGs. One is under contract, one is not. You don't need 2 great starting point guards, playing 24 minutes a night. You need one playing 36 ish, who can jump to 42 ish during the playoffs. Sure we can play one at SG, but thats not a good allocation of your resources.

I just read a quote from Dragic that he wants to START. Is Lowry now the permanent bench guy? Is he going to whine and cry about that?

In two years Lowry's contract will expire and he will get PAID. 10+ million.

So in two years you could potentially be paying your PG position 20+ million dollars. This is for a fringe playoff team. Right now, Lowry's value is super high. It makes most sense to trade him.

The smart move is to trade Lowry at the draft and show a commitment to Dragic as your starter. You cut salary, you add a high potential guy and you give yourself the edge in free agency. This is nothing against Lowry. If Dragic was under contract and Lowry was the free agent, I would make the same suggestion. Trade Dragic.

I see the following options.
1.) Let Dragic walk for nothing. This is the worst case scenario.
2.) Trade Lowry to Sacramento for Chuck Hayes and thier pick top1 protected. Resign Dragic with your pitch that he is your starter. Overpay if you need too. Draft a Drummond or MKG, who will be on a rookie scale for years to come.
3.) Try and keep both, risking egos based on who is the starter. Don't think this helps us in the long run.

Dragic / Boykins
Martin / Lee / Bud
MKG / Parsons / Morris
Scola / Patterson / Hayes
Camby / Dally / Hayes

Hell, make Lowry part of your package in the summer to offer Dwight. All I know is you CANNOT let Dragic walk for nothing.
