I'm shocked that Houston didn't go after Isaiah Thomas at the trade deadline. They could have traded that Pelicans pick and/or Terrence Jones for him. IT is on a cheap long term contract and would be a nice scorer off the bench or upgrade over Beverly.

They could sure use a guy like that vs Golden State, he's murdering the Warriors single handedly right now.

there is no one worth pick up
no sure if camby can play again
really wish we have him as backup backup c plan

JaVale McGee might get bought out by Philly today.

Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

So you wouldn't cut Dorsey to get him if he clears waivers (which he surely will)?

Just some cloke and dagger thoughts. We over paid for a kid that is not going to see the court and will get some other team to overpay him this off season. Canaan has more value than that plus we through a pick in on top of that. MAYBE it is for Dorsey to get picked up off the waiver wire... While we pick up McGee on a minimum contract in free agency... that sounds like a fair deal. PLUS both GMs save face - Hinkie won't look as cheap for not paying his own free agents and DM can part ways with Dorsey.

Should be an interesting offseason and obviously the #1 target is: LaMarcus Aldridge

I think Capela is on the team for awhile and Motiejunas is a major trade candidate.

I keep thinking about Brandon Jennings as a lefty point guard to take a look at.

with the way Capela dunking all over people in the playoff
i'm afraid Portland will want him in the trade

Isn't Aldridge a free agent?

I'm thinking some top priorities:

Sign LaMarcus Aldridge

Re-sign Corey Brewer for sure

Trade Motiejunas, Papanikalauo, Dorsey for Brandon Jennings http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mjdlyw2

Our payroll is $65 mill and that's not including Smith, Bev, Terry or McDaniels.

I think Houston is committed to about 60M next season when a few teams were in the 80M range this season. New TV deal coming etc and I think there's plenty of reason to think this team will be spending.

They can afford Howard, Aldridge, Harden and Ariza.

Afford yes. Make it work under the salary cap no.

No, of course not. I'm just leaving all options open with Morey and not even ruling out a Howard trade, for example. It's an obvious pipedream.

I imagine he'll go to SAS or Dallas.

My assumption is Houston will look to package something together for a point guard and I'm really hoping Brewer gets re-signed to become Sixth Man of the Year.
