It's finally over: Lions vs. Bears

Post#1 » by Icness » Thu Dec 27, 2012 5:04 pm

Bears have to win to have any to hope of getting in the playoffs. Lions playing to avoid an 8-game losing streak to end the year.

Looks like no Delmas or Hill, neither practicing Thursday. Hill is in a walking boot for his toe injury.

Stafford has a good chance to set two records. He will absolutely break Drew Bledsoe's record for most attempts in a season. He only needs 4. He can also become the 1st QB ever to throw for 5000+ yards in consecutive seasons, needs just over 300. Should get them both.

This could be Jason Hanson's last game in Detroit. I hope the Ford Field crowd shows class and respect for the best Lion of the past 15 years.

It's finally over is right; what an abysmal season. I hate rooting for losses but this one goes squarely in the "please lose" category. It's keeps us closer to a better pick and hopefully spurs a complete coaching overhaul.

1. Get Calvin 2000.
2. Get Stafford 5000.
3. Lose.

Those are the mandates.

Well, it's over. Four Lions turnovers ruined a pretty strong defensive performance.
My ramblings:

Draft season is upon us! But first, free agency and some coaching changes. I look for Cunningham and some offensive assistants to go, but Schwartz and Linehan are almost certainly safe. Could be a new QB coach. Will definitely be a new special teams coordinator (10 weeks too late)

I'd say Jason Hanson's standing with the fans is pretty safely in thumbs-up mode.

What a miserable season. Talk about regressing.
