Couple things, they hustled up and ran a play because it maybe was close for reed being out of bounds before the catch, and **** BO KNOWS. That dude is my new favorite packer.

I keep hoping they are this stupid but seems unlikely. I keep trying to talk it into existence how awesome Fields is and he just needs more help.

A more realistic hope is if they do draft QB they still keep Eberflus and fire him after 1 more disappointing season and have to have a new offensive system for the rookie QB in year 2 and he struggles again.

Reed is a **** baller. Cornerstone of the offense baller. Need a legit 1, but he is a superstar.

I don’t understand why the defense was so good yesterday.

I get that a lot of it was the offense sustaining drives, but to hold any team out of the endzone (esp without a bunch of TOs) is impressive.

I know we’re playing more man lately, but we did vs CAR too so wtf. I really feel like there isn’t always consistent effort.

Wicks had over 4 yards on the DB on only a 10yard route. He faked an outside release and jumped inside, clearing him easily.

I just don’t see what team is going to be anxiously awaiting an opportunity to trade for a rising 4th year starter QB who has gone 10-28 as a starter and has never shown any consistency in decision making or accuracy. On top of it, will be expecting a pay day.

I can’t imagine what the Bears would even get for him. I guess it only takes one team to view him as a starting caliber QB.

I could definitely see a team that doesn't have a realistic path to a top QB in the draft sending Chicago a 2nd or 3rd for Fields. Atlanta has been rumored, maybe a team like Pittsburgh, Denver, or Las Vegas could make some sense

I dont know the grades from yesterday but getting your best cover corner back and apparently focused certainly helps. I don't care if you have Belichick or Joe Barry calling the plays. Not having corners you can trust really limits the schemes and blitz packages you can throw at teams.

Let's call it what it is. Barry called a great game yesterday and the team executed it.

I don't know if the analytics back this up, but it seems that the pressure was more aggressive and more unpredictable. I know I found myself surprised on a few occasions when they rushed with 5 guys and/or blitzed with an MLB, and it looked like the Bears were caught off-guard as well.

Having Jaire back obviously helps bring more pressure, as others have pointed out, but they've had Jaire many times before and still played too passively. I think there was so much pressure on Barry after the Panthers game that he finally just relented and deviated from his stubborn dogma. I also think it's possible that he was told he had to if he wanted any chance of keeping his job.

Also, Brooks is good. His effort and motor are in sharp contrast to the bigger, more talented guys who might just be getting by on their god-given gifts and don't really care that much about football (Wyatt this year, Reed last year for example).

FWIW on next year's cap flexibility. Packers are currently projected to be 23rd in available space, but they're only 14th in dead cap. Throw in the youth and that we barely have any free agent decisions to make (outside of early extensions and decisions to restructure/waive Bahk and Jones), and it's not as dire as most of the teams below us. Still not a lot of 2024 cash to throw around, but not quite in "cap hell" either.

Still amazed the Packers have gone 50-15 against the Bears since 1992. I remember watching that first victory in 1992 at the GF's (now wife's) apartment. Rookie Edgar Bennett went for 100+ yards.

The Packers got 15 pressures on 24 dropbacks. The Bears got 4 pressures on 34 dropbacks.

I don’t disagree with anything you said, but when a unit plays well in big games, or against good teams, yet is totally listless against Devito, Bryce Young, and Baker Mayfield, it kinda seems like an effort/focus issue to me (it could be the defensive gameplan though too—being too conservative vs weak qbs? I’m not astute enough to tell).
