Yeah, me too. He's been bad, but who could we bring in off the street that would improve the position? Maybe have some try-outs, but I'd wait until the offseason to make a switch.

Kaeding.

Forgot the Chargers cut him. Yeah, I'd be okay with him for sure. Is he healthy?

The bye would've been a nice time to bring in someone new to take over at kicker. Right now, I doubt they cut Crosby, but if he goes 0-3 next week I think he'll be kicked to the curb.

I think if Crosby has another week like today, he's gone.

The defense played a lot better than I thought they were going to play, without Matthews. They made the plays when they needed to and even got a score.

I don't know why anyone was nervous, James Starks was our starting RB today :-D

In all seriousness, he's a better back when healthy so while he wasn't spectacular, he looks like he's getting back to health and motivation now.

As long as there aren't any long-term injuries I'm not aware of...this was a perfect week outside of losing confidence in Crosby.

I would be surprised if they didn't bring someone in for at least a tryout. At least that would put Crosby on notice, get your **** together or your out of here.

Gentlemen, let it soak in that we have Hayward, House, Shields, Burnett, McMillionaire, and Dr. Jennings.

Give it up to Ted Thominance for the varied, talented young defensive backfield he has put together. Chuck's age-related decline is not going to hurt near as much as I would have anticipated. Further, Tramon better watch his ass, Hayward, House, and Shields are coming for his job.

Burnett is not a very good football player, but I love the rest of the guys you listed.

It's true though. Not even utilizing a Pee-Wee kicker could stop the James Starks' led Packers' Machine.

In all seriousness though, that's not the role in which I ever wanted to see them use Starks. He had 25 carries. That's nearly twice as many as in any game last year. It tied for a career high, and that was in the much discussed Atlanta game in '10, when he received about half of them w/ a big lead trying to run clock. There is a law of diminishing returns with our running game given our O-Line and I never purported Starks to be a world beater. Any offense's success is going to be heavily predicated on being unpredictable. I didn't think McCarthy was very unpredictable today. He ran like 85-90% of the time out of the I. That number should be closer to 40-50%. If we're going to be predictable in one direction it should be toward our passing game. Afterall that is the strength of the team. At a point running the football becomes counter-productive for this Packers' squad. The ideal running game for this team would be 12-17 carries for Starks (depending if we're protecting a lead at some point), mostly out of I-Form and passing half the time out of that formation, a few shotgun hand-offs for Cobb, and maybe a bone in very short yardage for Kuhn. About a 2:1 pass/run ratio. It was 1:1 today

Watching the game, the Packers secondary is impressive. The Heyward is a ballhawk, always seems to make a play. House is solid. I knew Megatron would perform. Titus young was shut down, no other wide receiver did anything to my knowledge. Very impressive win considering the injuries. Need Clay and Jennings to come back though.

Have no idea what GJ was thinking there. Just leave dude alone.

One of the guttier wins in a while. We were playing a team that had to beat us to have any chance at the playoffs, in their building, down like 7 key players, our kicker can't make anything, and our OL was getting destroyed. Yet we still win. Huge. I wanted that one, I think we lose next week without Clay but it probably isn't a huge deal if we do. I think we matchup great with the Vikings and be shocked if we lose to either the Titans or Lions in Lambeau as well.

Be nice to win the division, but I feel very comfortable with this team as long as they get in, and we should be getting Matthews, Shields, Woodson, Benson, and Jennings back in the next few weeks.

I think playing Charles Woodson at this point makes our defense worse. Hard for me to say that since he was such a great player... but he really isn't that good anymore. Maybe if he moved to safety full time.

I think Jennings was trying to loosen Crosby up, which he may have.

Outside of getting more confidence out of the kicking position or a better feeling about our passing game as a whole, I can't imagine a better outcome.

No major injuries (that I know of), a win on the road against a division opponent, and we learned more positive things about some young defenders.

Moving the calendar one week further to the reinforcements coming in.

As for Benson: I'm glad he'll be back for depth, but I think Starks getting the bulk of the carries with Green as the pass-game specialist is as good as we'll get, given that Benson is going to still be healing up. Benson has a good ability to get the yardage given to him, but if he was the guy that never came back this year from injury, I wouldn't be incredibly concerned.

Also, I was mega impressed with Moses. Guy was collapsing the pocket consistently. He was a find as a UFA.
