I would love to know what is going on with Flynn's elbow though. If it isn't back to 100% by camp we might have to cut him.

I hope they don't use a roster spot for a 3rd QB. There's too much uncertainty with three OL coming off injuries (two starters and top backup), no starter at FS (maybe Hyde?), 3 WRs that have produced, and average at best TEs.

Absolutely. As a Wisconsin resident born and raised, I'm obligated to love Tolzien, but this is an incredibly deep QB class this year. I think that if a guy like Aaron Murray or Logan Thomas slips to the 5th-6th round, I'd be all for using a late round pick to bring in a guy with more potential.
I wonder if this is the year the Packers intend to start the season with 3 QBs because of what happened last year. And so they'd be willing to use a slightly higher pick, like 4th or 5th round, since they're not trying to get him onto the practice squad. Maybe the guys you mentioned, or the LSU guy, or Savage from Pitt?

Considering what happened last year I see no way they don't have 3 QB's on the roster. Does Tolzien qualify for PS?

I squandered an asset? Then Hammond taught me well.

Their backup was signed just before the season, and he got injured too. It was extreme circumstances. I expect a rookie QB on the PS as the third QB. They need depth at a few other positions. I would love to have 3 QBs if they solve safety and all three injured lineman comeback strong.

Re: 2014 Discussion
QB= 3 total = 2 active roster / 1 on PS getting active roster pay
#2 = Flynn & Tolzein compete - looser is cut
#3 = TT uses 5th or 6th rd pick to draft either Murray, Thomas or Savage who is placed on PS but is paid at level of active roster to keep him from signing elsewhere

Isn't Savage rocketing up draft boards? I thought I remember reading something about all 32 teams requesting private workouts with him and that he could go as early as the late-first/second round.

While having a decent year at Pitt last year, in which he showed he was capable of making just about every throw possible, former Quarterback Tom Savage has seen his draft stock soar past any and all expectations the experts originally had for him.
As Peter King of Sports Illustrated’s Monday Morning Quarterback wrote, Savage has become the surprise player leading up to the draft, as draft analyst Gil Brandt has called him “The hottest guy in the draft.”
ESPN’s draft analyst Todd McShay has Savage going 33rd overall to the Houston Texans in his latest mock draft.
With a number of high-end Quarterbacks available in this year’s draft, some believe it is Savage that has the strongest arm of the entire group.
Savage is so in demand by teams right now seeking to meet with him and work him out that his agent had to turn two teams away as the prospect simply doesn’t have the time to meet with everyone that wants to see him.
Last year at Pitt, Savage led the Panthers to a 7-6 record throwing for 2,958 yards completing 238 of 389 attempts and racking up 21 touchdowns

I was never impressed with Savage when I saw him play. Dude makes too many stupid mistakes for me to want to use a draft pick on him.
Murray in the later rounds would be pretty outstanding, however.

Nice article on how GB paid out twice as much as any other team to get guys to workout in GB in the off-season:

Just a tongue-in-cheek comment based on most people's opinions on MM's play calls.

Interesting way to look at things.

Our ranking of all 122 franchises in the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB rates teams based on how much they spent in player payroll for every win during the last five seasons. Each team is compared against the average price per win in its league to produce a score we call the efficiency index. The less a team spends compared with its peers, the lower its score. Playoff victories and championships get extra weight. Payroll data come from the best available published sources.*

Re: 2014 Discussion
Aaron Rodgers is dating actress Olivia Munn, according to reports.
US Weekly and the New York Daily News are reporting the Green Bay Packers quarterback and the co-star of HBO's "The Newsroom" were laughing and kissing at a large table Saturday at a Malibu restaurant.
Us Weekly notes Munn and Rodgers spoke onstage together last month at the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. The two were photographed while hanging around backstage.
Rodgers and Munn were spotted two weeks after Munn broke up with Robocop actor Joel Kinnaman, Us Weekly reports.
