Lattimore signing was announced April 30th.

My bad. Should've just done a google search. The last thing I read on him said he hadn't decided if he was going to sign it, and that must've been a while ago.

I think this is nicely done. It also goes to show this team doesn't have a lot of turnover this year, meaning we seem pretty happy with most of the starters at least.

I do think their will be some significant debate on keeping a 3rd qb in Tolzien if he has a good TC. In that case they might be forced to stash someone on the practice squad. Maybe Janis or Lyeria get a fat PS contract and hope it keeps them happy. But that would mean going only 5 deep with Janis on the PS, or 3 deep at TE with Bostick, Quarless, Rodgers, and a PS Lyeria. I don't think Bostick is PS eligible so he's going to have to make sure he earns his spot.

The other roster spot that seems up for grabs is the 5th ILB. I think it's one of our weakest positions, maybe Andy Mulamba takes that spot.

Do you think they would keep Worthy and keep only 4 ILBS?
Or are Guion and Worthy fighting for the last (6th) spot on the Dline? Guion's signing bonus was relatively small...

IF we carry 3 QBs on 53 man roster - which I doubt - its more likely we drop to 5 WR than dropping to 3 TEs.
AT TE I feel Rogers and Bostick are on solid ground with Quarless Taylor Stoneburner Lyeria competing for 2 spots.

Mulumba is an OLB - so far not an ILB
Personally I think Worthy is crap and Guion if healthy will beat him out easily.

^ We just gave Quarless a new multi-year deal and drafted Rogers pretty high, so I think they are both locks to make the roster at TE. I think that Bostick has the inside track at the #3 spot. That pretty much leaves Stoneburner, Taylor, and Lyerla to fight for the 1-2 spot(s) left available.

I'd think that leaves Ryan Taylor on the outside looking in, he's just a guy. Stoneburner or Lyerla can replace him on special teams and you can practice squad the other remaining guy.

Quarless got 2 yrs $3mil - 350k signing bonus + $350k guaranteed. I don't think $350k is enough to lock Quarless a roster spot. He's injured again and his once solid blocking has not (yet) returned. He's still the early favorite to start but I disagree he's a lock to make he team. At this point, IF he does start - its more of an inditement of how poor our other TEs are than how good Quarless is. Frankly I was expecting Bostick to step up this his 3rd year

Lotta time for this to shake out, but Rodgers obv has the inside track right now with Q being banged up.

I would agree with the thinking that Lyerla, Taylor, Stoneburner, and Perillo are competing for the final spot. Sounds like Lyerla is falling after dropping a couple balls over the weekend, but I would have to think we give that guy every chance to make the roster. He's just too talented...

Stoneburner is just a guy to me, and actually, made a couple bonehead mistakes on specials when he got a chance last season. Taylor seems like a "Mac" guy to me, just does the little things a la Kuhn.

Probably the best I've seen. While it's still early I have to think this is the year Bush gets waived, not because he's a bad player, but we have so much depth he's not needed.

I also don't think we'll keep 16 players for the front seven, with the ability of Peppers and Neal(maybe not anymore with the weight loss) ability to put their hand down on third down, I think that number comes down to 14.

Also think the final number for WR/TE is 10, MM is not going to want to cut any more than that.

Could very well shake out the way you’ve got it but I make a couple changes

OFFENSE – drops 1 / total of 24
DEFENSE – gains 2 / subtracts 1 / total of 26

1. RB - Subtract Neal to PS

2. TE - Subract Lyeria & add Taylor - Lyeria is not looking very good. Taylor yet may survive the same way Bush did all these years = ST.

3. DL – subtract Pennel to PS

4. CB – add rookie Goodson

5. ILB – add rookie fa = Thomas

I would agree on Colt. Unless he lights up pre season I dont think he makes the 53. I can see a PS stash try with him. The first three are locks with Taylor as the super special teamer. Im struggling to find a way Colt makes the 53. Also agree on Goodson making the 53.

I think you have a few guys on that list who are mortal locks to make the team, most notably Davante Adams, but also Sherrod, Flynn, Thornton and Linsley. It would be a major upset if any of them weren't on the 53.

It's early, and we'll have to see what shakes out from the pre-season games, but from what I've been reading, I wouldn't be surprises if OLB takes Palmers' roster spot. I think GB wil try to stash ILB Thomas as a PS guy. Get another 15 lbs of good weight on him, and he'll be ready to go next year. Thomas is one of those guys I'd pay roster-spot salary to if needed to keep him from jumping to another team, if claimed.

As for the WR's, I think the last spot comes down to either White , Dorsey, or the new dark horse Sheppard, with Janis to the PS.

Looking for clarification if I'm reading this right?

I'd say Goodson very much on the cut line right now
Linsley is a lock, esp with Barclay injury
We're set with Lacy/Starks/Harris/Kuhn at RB. Stash Neal on the PS

Too many WRs imho, only one of those three are likely making it. Janis has to start showing flashes to warrant beating out White. Despite his size we seem to really like White in the slot.

Barclay, torn acl
out for the year

so,
do we just add another OL guy
or do we add 2
and bump someone from another position ?

I'd say if anything it solidifies G Lane Taylor making the team

We could've rolled without him prior to Barclay going down. Now Taylor's a near certainty imho
