I really want this win. That fanbase is as arrogant as I've seen a fanbase in recent memory. Not sure if a last second win or blow them out from the beginning would be sweeter, just want the win.

Hawk and Jones? Well Hawk did have a noticeably good year last year but is that saying much as our run D sucked? Brad Jones was seriously nagged by injuries last season - it is possible he will return to 2012 form where he was very good covering the TE- BUT he is starting this year off injured again ....

I think you have to be concerned about ILB--how can you not be? Just as much as with defensive line with me.

Safety and Heyward are going to make us better, and if we haven't found that second pass rusher by now with the resources we've spent looking for one (two recent first rounders, plus converting Neal, plus Peppers) we may never find him.

But very concerned about our defense still. And in the preseason, Wilson has looked incredibly sharp, BTW.

This week has been so f###ing depressing, it's hard to be optimistic. But no reason we can't win up there, especially if the refs are hard on the d-backs with penalties early.

I'll give you one guess as to the only team that wasn't flagged for defensive holding this preseason.

Bruce Irvin is still talking. He sure has a lot to say for a guy who managed two sacks last year.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11458000/bruce-irvin-seattle-seahawks-says-pray-green-bay-packers-rookie-corey-linsley?ex_cid=espnapi_public

Corey Linsley will start at center for the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night in the loudest stadium in the NFL, CenturyLink Field, without having had a single snap with quarterback Aaron Rodgers in preseason play.

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin can't help but feel sorry for him.

I'm going to pray for him. It's going to be a long night, man. We've got to just take advantage of it.

Love to get the opening kickoff and score on the first drive. Although kicking off and having Sea go 3 and out would also be a good start. Just don't want to play catchup if possible.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Line is up to 6 most places (MGM casinos still at 5.5) , gamblers are on Seattle. Good.

Peter King MMQB piece on Ted Thompson.

Teaser:
The reclusive Ted Thompson opens up about his 10-year tenure as Green Bay's general manager, pulling back the curtain on why he drafted Aaron Rodgers, how he signed Julius Peppers and what he first saw in a Falcons third-string QB named Favre

Tomorrow Andrew Brandt will have a MMQB piece on Ted Thompson.

great story. A revelation (for me at least) Ted fore-saw the possibility of Rodgers falling - studied him and decided he was going to take him if he fell. That's far more impressive than just unexpectedly having this top-rated QB fall in front of you so you decide to take him.

I would like to see some formations where Hyde plays a hybrid ILB role next to Hawk in a formation with Haha at safety. You have to get your best players/tacklers on the field when you get the chance

Sooooo like a nickel or dime? You can't have Hyde take on blockers but in a nickel or dime he'll play close to the LOS in that role.

Yep, pretty much that but I would like for the emphasis to be on getting the best tacklers on the defense in the box as often as possible. Basically I'm just saying that I'm hoping we forgo a second ILB in favor of getting Hyde and Haha on the field at the same time on a regular basis.
