Denzel Perryman ILB from The U was catching the eye of scouts today, according to Twitter. Was giving out hits.

I didn't get to see him play in college. Shaq Thompson is a S / OLB / RB? Wat?

He is the exact type of player the Pats will want if he falls that far. He will be a linebacker in the NFL. Some will say he is a boom/bust prospect, however with his football IQ I would say he is a better prospect than that.

I just want a player named Shaq so I can yell all my favorite "Shaq-isms" at the TV when he does something cool...

Re: 2015 Draft Lead Up Thread
Does anyone have insider? Curious to see what Kiper would grade our draft last year afterwards. Can't imagine anything lower than A-.
Three impact starters in Clinton-Dix / Linsley / Adams. I 4th likely in Richard Rodgers (dude caught everything last year).
Still plenty of potential in Janis / Abby / Bradford / Thornton. I think if any one of those 3 guys turns into an actual player, this could end up being one of TT's best drafts of all time. While there may not be any super-stars there - 5 legit quality starters out of any draft is amazing.

Post-draft grade: B
Summary: This is a really good-looking draft class when you consider not only did Green Bay get a ton of reps, but these guys were playing in the NFC Championship Game. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix was a pick I called "an easy call" at No. 21 overall, and while he certainly had his ups and downs, I think even cynical Packers fans -- or those who watched Seattle's miraculous two-point conversion too many times -- have to think he's got the upside of a Pro Bowler.
Davante Adams sure looks like a good pick and was able to work his way into the mix even among a talented cast of pass-catchers. Same story with Richard Rodgers, who snagged 20 catches and looks to have a bright future. Corey Linsley is maybe the best story here. He looks like one of the steals of the draft as a sixth-rounder who stepped in and played center pretty effectively -- and all season. If there's a complaint, it's that I really wanted the Packers to get a player who could play inside linebacker early on, and they didn't, which in part necessitated Clay Matthews playing inside so often. Still, a pretty great draft when you consider the contributions to winning.
New grade: A-
He also gave Oakland and Carolina A-'s. The Giants got the only A.

WalterFootball reporting that we had a meeting with Perryman, along with seven other teams.
EDIT: Met with Danny Shelton too. I like both of these guys quite a bit.

hes probably best as a OLB in a 4-3, Thomas Davis clone, upside of Lavonte David, hes looking to gone earlier now and will probably end up top 15 after the combine.

I know we don't need the position. But I would love Dorial Green-Beckham in the first and Maxx Williams in the second.

Way too many character concerns for DGB to want to use a 1st rounder on him. Now, if you're talking about a middle round pick, then yeah.

They said that about Randy Moss, Dez Bryant, and many others. If DGB is as good as advertised, I don't care about the character concerns.
While Bulaga has been good, Dez on this team may have been the guy to help us get over the hump against one or more of San Fran, Seattle, or the Giants.

I'd be so happy with this. Also would not be surprised w DL or CB taken early.
I'm not as big a draftnik as I used to be but one guy that stood out to me this year was McKinney. Just from watching and not looking at any mock drafts I thought he'd be a top 10 pick for sure. I recently saw a mock with him falling to the Packers. That would be a great pick IMO, just the kind of fast playmaking ILB they need.

Re: 2015 Draft Lead Up Thread
Seems like things are aligning for us to get a ILB this year kind of like at S last year. McKinney is impressive and Perryman's ability to generate power in small spaces is freaky.

They also said it about Justin Blackman and Aaron Hernadiz along with many others too. Different levels obviously but sometimes the character concerns are real and teams shoulf stay away

I like Mckinney also and first impression your right I thought no way he lasts till us. Then I remember that last years draft not withstanding MLB or ILB in a 3-4 is valued much the same as RBs when it comes to the draft unless theyre viewed as cant miss 3 down LBs

I wouldn't mind a repeat of the Ron Wolf "Randy Moss" draft but with LBs instead of CBs.

no way we take a wr then te in the first 2 rounds.. we have way bigger needs across the board and good players will be available at them all.. we need to get a corner, dt and ilb.. plus i trust thompson to be able to get offense late in the draft like he always does.. we should have been in the superbowl today.. Look were a good ilb and another cb and dlineman away from getting there.. however if we get a good defensivee player in the first im not opposed to going with maxx williams in the 2nd.. i dont think dorial green-beckham goes in the first 2 rounds with him being out of football for so long.. id take a flier on him though

Re: 2015 Draft Lead Up Thread
People need to remember that we're getting a free WR next year with Abbrederis. Rodgers was really high on him in camp.
