Strangely one of my favorite picks in the draft.

I don't expect this guy to someday replace Rodgers. Would just be happy with a guy who can emergency start 2-3 games and move the chains.

Easily a no briner move. Cost a 7 to move up and get him. He has top 100 talent.
Funny thing is we get a QB to groom and Chicago still only has Jay.

Love this pick. Nothing else to say about it.

It's like Ted said screw the first three rounds. Then round 4 came and he decided to stop playing with us.

We got more trade value than the two trades after us. In fact the Colts gave up more to move up less.

If nothing else, the opportunity to watch Hundley will keep me interested in the preseason. Outside of watching a few highlight compilations I've never seen him play.

It's about time you give M3 a real talent to mold. After weak armed guys like Brohm, Flynn, and Harrell, and limited upside guy like Tollzien.

I'm not sure why he BH gets as much criticism as he does - I know the pocket awareness and accuracy need to be improved, but his stats tell a different story -

PASSING STATISTICS
NAME CMP ATT YDS CMP%YDS/A TD INT RAT
Jameis Winston 305 467 3907 65.3 8.37 25 18 145.5

Brett Hundley 271 392 3155 69.1 8.05 22 5 152.7

Marcus Mariota 304 445 4454 68.3 10.01 42 4 181.7

Funny thing is a few weeks ago Hundley was on SVP and Russillo and they were talking about various things. At the end of the interview they asked about what if the Packers took him and what would it be like learning from Rodgers.

Just read where one critic said that Hundley had accuracy problems. If true, it must be from beyond a certain amount of yards.

His production was pretty good at ucla but I think he gets knocked because when you look at his tools you just expect more.

You should look at his weapons when comparing him to Mariota and Winston. I think this is a steal. I don't know how he was there.

I heard one scout say it like this - he is accurate, but not "precise". What he meant is that he can target his receivers pretty well, just doesn't always lead them or put the ball in a spot where they can take full advantage. They also don't like the style of offense he played in - mostly shotgun and smaller passes. Kind of like how Mariota was downgraded a little. The reason they love Winston (besides his success and 4th Q comebacks) is the pro style offense he plays in. The thing is M3 can work with him a few years - this guy could be great. Last year some scouts were saying he could end up being a top overall. Course they said that about Brohm too, but this guy has a big arm, speed, and size. M3 hasn't had anyone like this to work with since AR.

I think this kid is a favorite to be a Heisman winner or at least finalist if he stays another year and immediately gets into the 1st round hype train. It is really interesting to me that the NFL network scout said that there are no hidden gems at QB this year, but if Hundley stays I would bet money that this guy's jock would have the NFL network's mouth all over it.

The thing you have to remember is Scouts want players that play in pro systems like WInston - they are much more ready and have a better track record of success in the NFL - the Mannings, Brady, Luck, Rodgers, etc. The pocket passers that just occasionally roll out or run when things break down.

Not that the dual threats like Kapernick and WIlson haven't had success, but even those players have been reigned in a little. A lot of these QBs have injury issues to from running against NFL defenders. This guy will have to change his style because if you watch videos you will see he never slides and plays the position like a RB when he runs.

The thing is he will have one of (if the best) best QB tutors in the NFL, and can learn to change his style in back of a hall of famer. He couldn't have fallen to a better situation. The Packers couldn't have drafted a much more talented guy - and to get him where they did - this was a total no-brainer. GREAT PICK! Another guy that will make preseason games that much more interesting.

My favorite pick of the draft. I've been dreaming of Hundley being a Packer for a long time. Wow. Can't believe it.
