ATL: Week 5

Post#1 » by rilamann » Fri Oct 9, 2015 12:29 am

Surprised no one had started a week 5 thread.

Guess I'm the only one around here excited about watching the best player in the NFL do his thing tonight. If I was starting an NFL team and had the first pick and could pick any current active player I know I would take J.J. Watt #1.

You could put Watt out there with 10 other average NFL players and your defense is still going to be really good. That's why guys like Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady will never be safe picks as league MVP as long as this dude is suiting up.

I'm sorry but if JJ Watt had the same impact as Brady or Rodgers, his team wouldn't be 1-3.

And the defense he anchors probably wouldn't give up 42 pts through the first 3 quarters against the Falcons.

I probably should have used green font.

I kind of figured, but I've actually heard that before, plus your history isn't the best.

...or give up 10 pts in the 1st quarter to a zombie Matt Hasselback led offense.

Hasselbeck is still pretty decent at 40 years old.

Colts have done a good job on Watt
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

It appears that the Colts are trying to mimic the Spurs model of success by signing every veteran player over the age of 30 they can find. Too bad that almost never works in football. We'll see how fresh Frank Gore and Andre Johnson look come Week 17.

That division is a train wreck as usual and the Colts can probably win it going 7-9.

He's been much better than Luck this year. Then again, so have a ton of other quarterbacks.

Hassleback is basically your ideal back up behind a super star QB. One part coach, one part mentor and can play .500 ball in relief of the starter.

Bears beat the Chiefs, hurting their chances of a high pick.

Yes but we now have a 3 game lead and the tiebreaker on them.

True, I was thinking more so them getting into the playoffs. Sucks they won last week, because their season would be done right now.
