He’s definitely not content with just catching the ball. Getting better with more reps too, can see his confidence growing.
Kraft has similar traits, great to see.

I'm starting to see shades of Sterling Sharpe in him and I'm kind of surprised that I didn't see it sooner and that nobody else has mentioned it yet. You hesitate to ascribe that kind of upside to someone drafted so late, but hypothetical draft upside stops being relevant after a few years - and sometimes sooner.

I'd be hesitant to compare anyone to Sterling Sharpe, even if he were a top-10 pick. Sterling was different. But I really like Wicks too!

A little throwback to Wicks at Virginia. He forced almost as many missed tackles with this play as MHJ (5) did all season.

Impressive. Those eight missed tackles on the year almost make up for the 23% drop rate and three (3) contested catches on 72 targets. (MHJr was 8.2%, 13, and 114).

Nice to see you comparing Wicks, are 5th round pick, to a supposed generational talent.

MHJ has been hyped as a great receiver, casuals love him. But is he that great?

58.8 % catch rate (I know, blame the QB)
7.25% missed tackle rate (43rd of 44 receivers in NCAA with 100 targets in 2023)
Red zone - 4/11 inside the 10 yard line. If you want to blame the QB he was 4/11 last year with Stroud too.
Couldn't be bothered to run drills because he was resting. What a diva. Really showing that competitive fire

Yes. He's incredible. Watch some college football next fall, it's fun.

5 missed tackles on 67 catches. That's AJ Dillon level.

Malik Nabors forced 30 missed tackles this season. Feel free to watch something besides the BIg Ten once in a while. It's fun.

Yes, it is I, the guy who's been talking about SEC prospects three years before they're eligible, and calling my shot on Anthony Richardson, or Jayden Daniels as the #2 pick months before anyone had them there...yes, I'm the Big 10 guy.
