Texans Week 1 vs. Washington Redskins, 12:00 PM CST 9/7/14

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Sun Sep 7, 2014 3:37 pm

Here we go!

Was last season a fluke? Will the $100 million dollar man, JJ Watt lead this team back to respectability? Is Fitzpatrick the man, or will Mallett take over during the season?

Today's game versus the Redskins sees two teams who had really bad seasons looking to re-invent themselves. RGIII is trying to prove a legion of critics wrong, and the Texans are trying to prove that they are healthy, they are ready and that last season was an aberration.

Every season starts with hope.

No injuries please, thanks. Really looking forward to seeing how the defense performs with the return of a healthy Cushing and the addition of Clowney.

Apparently Graham is inactive so we should see a heavy dose of Fiedorowicz. Posey out as well, not sure why, but that sucks.

I can't believe that I came away from this game most impressed by our Special Teams.

Well, after Watt, of course. Dude is such a monster!

There was a lot to be encouraged about with this first game. And to think: we are already halfway to last season's win total!

Hey guys, not a Texans fan, but congrats on the win (and was glad to see you beat a divisional rival of my team as well :)). Just wanted to say you got a heckuva coach in Houston now as well, saw a lot of O'Brien at PSU, and the guy is amazing. He's an outstanding motivator, great offensive mind, and can get the absolute best out of any QB. Good luck to you!

I thought Fitz played a great game, didn't expect this at all while watching him in preseason.

Man what a game!!!

Defense was tenacious! It's a shame that clowney got hurt but now we can unleash mercilus!

That was the best special teams game I've seen in a long time!

Offense looked a little conservative but we didn't force Fitzpatrick out of his comfort zone and I think he did a good job managing the game.

Good to see the old Arian running the ball!
