Colts sign Kerry Collins

Looks like Peyton's injury is more serious than we thought and he very well may miss the opener. However, at least we finally have a capable backup.

Looks like Manning got activated today, so that is a good sign. Now the problem is if Manning doesnt play, but is practicing he is stealing 1st team snaps from Collins which he will need if he starts.

The other problem is Wayne. His comments are definitely rooted from Collins getting 4 million and him still not getting a new contract. Overall, the move had to be made because Painter is awful, but he did look better last game.

I have hope that Manning will not miss a start and keep the streak alive. As far as signing Collins, I like it. Painter and Orlovsky are horrible and just don't cut it. Granted Collins will have to learn the offense/players and Reggie Wayne lobbying for terrible Painter, but I think he'll be alright and I liked Collins in his later years, the signing brings some more veteran stability too. Still I would rather have signed him to a 1 year deal though.

I think we see it as a one year, we can always just cut him. Im not sure how much is guaranteed though.
