CP out for Season (ESPNnews)

Post#1 » by MadPT » Mon Sep 28, 2009 7:33 pm

Here we go Henne - lets see what you can do.

Sorry CP I hope you heal up well and play again.

EDIT- now the ticker says expected to miss rest of season so we will see but, my guess is since it's going to be major time it doesn't matter anyway it's Henne for the rest of the season.

I try and look at everything as a positive and in this case there are a couple. If Chad P would of stayed healthy and we would of been 0-5(It looks like were going to be 1-6) we would of changed QB's any ways. Now we get to see Chad Henne and what he brings to the table. More then likely he bad due to his WR's and being a rookie. After the season, we would of lost Chad Pennington anyways and we would have the same question as we do now; Is Henne the answer? If he is, then we have our QB of the future and we can draft someone else, if he's not, we draft a top 5 QB and end the drought of having a Franchise QB.

Yeah this gives us 13 games to see what Henne is made of. If we don't like what we see than we go for Bradford next year.

But man, poor Chad. This guy is just extremely unlucky.

I think everyone assumed Pennington would get hurt this year (injury prone), just not this soon, and out for the year

This speeds up the Henne process by a year, we shall know by the end of 2010 if he is our guy (approx. 2 years of starting experience, as opposed to 2010 being his first year starting)

I may be speaking prematurely but I do not like what Henne brings to the table. Never have. I'm all for Pat White with our wildcat system, that's great. But I am hoping Henne surprises (extremely unlikely to me) and we somehow have a decent year, or we do very poorly. Poor enough to grab Sam Bradford. Dude's a stud.

Dolphins get some insurance at QB

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4516236

The Miami Dolphins acquired quarterback Tyler Thigpen from the Kansas City Chiefs for an undisclosed draft pick on Tuesday.

Wasn't he the guy that had a big game against us last year?
We knew they would bring in somebody so I guess this is it - seems like an ok move.

Not excited about Thigpen but I don't think anyone would excite me much, outside of Vick.

Thigpen is good. I saw him last year and i was impressed. Will he beat out Henne? No way but his defiantly a good backup to have!
