playoffs! wildcard round 1/5 vikings @ packers

Post#1 » by hermes » Tue Jan 1, 2013 5:08 pm

saturday night, 7pm central

vikings (10-6) @ packers (11-5)

need to get after rodgers more, try to force some mistakes, and play keep away

establish the running game and don't give up on it (they are probably going to throw everything at it) and keep a little balance as well, ponder needs to minimize mistakes in his first playoff game

we can do this, we played well in green bay the first time around, ap ran wild but some redzone turnovers killed us

GO VIKINGS

We definitely need to do a better job of slowing down Rodgers. We can't expect to score 37 points again or to have Ponder play like that again.

Especially if Woodson plays. This is going to be a tough challenge for Ponder but he needs to play smart and not throw the ball to the Packers secondary like he did last game in Lambeau. He's gotta stay cool, calm, and collective.

Joe Webb might start? My mancrush will either be crushed or taken to new levels after tonight.

Love the idea of Joe Webb starting. At the very least it gives the Pack something seriously weird to have to game plan for.

Either Webb is a hero or people will shut up about the Webb > Ponder arguments.

i think both could happen, we can pull this off but i think people's rosy opinion of webb is going away pretty quickly

Well Webb definitely blew. I wonder if he had seen more time during the season if he would've played better. He has a great arm but he seemed to be over-throwing at times and Frazier seemed to get away from the fact that Webb did a nice job with the read-option. Poor offensive play-calling.

That being said the Packers went into "don't lose" mode after scoring on the initial 2nd half drive and the game became very boring.

Sucked that we lost, but it was a great season. Made the playoffs when we weren't expected to and AP went for 2 grand. One of the more enjoyable seasons in recent memory.

Probably a couple seasons too late.

Return to Minnesota Vikings
