I guess it depends on what teams would be wiling to trade us, if he dropped down that far. If the price is right, I would definitely move back in order to fill more holes.

Re: QB Prospect Thread
I think it's more important to fill QB than any other hole. Especially considering how much cap space we, we can fill a few hole with free agency. That being said, if we don't like Manziel, we shouldn't draft him. He has a lot of question marks.

Re: QB Prospect Thread
I still like both Manziel and Boyd. I'm a sucker for anybody with big game college production and wheels to make plays when the pocket collapses. Carr is boring. I'd much rather go for a boom or bust pick. Manziel will probably make some late throws and Boyd will probably make some errant passes, but they have big play potential too. Carr making check downs on 2nd down and being a statue getting bowled over by the pass rush on 3rd down is non-interesting.

Carr's 40 time was actually better than Manziel's

It's not like he cant make plays when the pocket breaks down. He showed some athleticism at the combine.

Re: QB Prospect Thread
Pocket presence is what worries me with Carr. Otherwise I'd definitely take him. Four years of college experience and a pretty strong arm. But I wouldn't take him at #8. We would have to trade up for him unless all the teams that need a quarterback in front of us draft them in the first round. If we could land him in the second that would be great.

I'd still consider Carr at #8. He has the best physical attributes of any of the first round QB's and no defensive players are jumping out at me. Maybe Mack, but it bothers me a little that he's already 24 years old.

Mack, Clowney, Mosley, Dennard, Barr (Maybe...), Manziel, Watkins, and Bridgewater are all players I would take over Carr. Nothing against Carr, I just don't think he is worthy of a top 10 pick. Carr over Brotles though! Starting to think Brotles has greatest chance to be a bust.

Re: QB Prospect Thread
Sounds like the Vikes are really interested in Bridgewater. Vikes personnel talked with him privately yesterday.
Today he had his pro day. Many say he didn't look that great or just 'average' but I remember JaMarcus Russell had an elite pro day so you can't judge him based on this alone. He threw without his glove as well (he always wears the glove). Guess his agent suggested him to not use it so he can show people what he can do without it.

Norv is still pretty high on him. Maybe this will scare off teams like the Jags and Raiders so he falls to us at number 8?

Dont see any way he falls to #8, too many teams with qb needs ahead of us.

I think it's a long shot personally. I still think the Jags and Raiders could do something stupid but I won't hold my breath entirely. If any QB should drop, I think it would be Manziel over Bridgewater.
"Worst case" we take Justin Gilbert at 8 or trade down for Barr or Mosley.

Gilbert or Barr and maybe Dennard would be the only players I'd want in the first round if all the qb's are gone.

I'm all for trading up for Bridgewater. I like the "film junkie" quotes about him. I don't know if the trade chart is still valid, but it'd take the 8, the 2nd rounder, and probably next year's 2nd to move up to the #2 pick.

I'd do that. Could still pick up a strong G and probably a LB in the 3rd, or use some of the later picks to move up. Getting a real QB would be huge.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

I think it would take a future first rounder and change. Almost all trades into the high first round for a QB require a future first rounder.
