eagles (8-5) @ vikings (3-9-1)

eagles fighting for the division lead and have a high flying offense

vikings have a lot of injuries and are all over the place

it will either be a blowout or a crazy game that goes down the finish

do you guys think adrian should play this week or give him some time to heal up properly? he says he wants to go and will be ready (no surprise)

also harrison smith might comeback this week, so that's exciting

I'd probably let him play. It would be nice if I thought we could save him for a championship run down the line but that doesn't seem likely within the next 2-3 seasons. I think he's playing for history, and you don't make history sitting on the bench.

i suppose, maybe the injury isn't as serious as i think it is - i just wouldn't want him to aggravate it so he can't play the rest of the year

I think Adrian knows his body well enough by now to make that decision. I know some of it does come from the front office but with nothing on the line for this season, if he's cleared by the medical staff they basically owe it to the guy to play him if he wants to, don't they? He is this franchise.

What do you guys think?

Looks like both AP and Toby are out. The Vikings have been playing better lately but this game might not be pretty.

Best throw from the Vikes I've seen this year.

defense is really playing well too

if this turnover on downs stands that will be a huge play since it was so deep in eagles territory

Fun game to watch. Cassel played like one hellova pro. Have to wonder where the team would be had he started early in the season.

Cassel will be a great backup next year when they draft one of the top QB's. As you can see from Chicago and Green Bay, it pays to have a good backup and it sucks when you don't.

so there are some interesting articles on the wiretap related to the vikings

http://football.realgm.com/src_wiretap_ ... ngs_plans/
The Minnesota Vikings are unlikely to retain Christian Ponder or Josh Freeman.

The Vikings believe Matt Cassel is likely to enter training camp as the presumed starter with a highly drafted rookie backing him up.

The Vikings could keep Ponder depending on how their next head coach thinks of him.

http://football.realgm.com/src_wiretap_ ... s_in_2014/
The Minnesota Vikings are unlikely to keep Leslie Frazier next season.

Frazier is well-liked by ownership, but the Vikings believe they can find a better coach.

The Vikings will target a young coach, likely a NFL assistant with "star power.

http://football.realgm.com/src_wiretap_ ... _peterson/
The Minnesota Vikings will not trade Adrian Peterson this offseason.

The Vikings revere Peterson and also believe he is critical in helping the franchise open their new stadium in 2016.

Peterson doesn't want to leave the Vikings, but he would accept a trade if that was the team's decision.

these seem awfully speculative

Somebody has inside source, or at least thinks they do.

Cassel has an option for next season, so he can leave if he wants. I also thinks there's a decent chance he's the starter if he stays, if only to keep the seat warm for somebody we drafted.

i'm becoming more and more of the opinion that if cassel stays let him go until whatever qb we take is ready to start

since we're moving away from the top picks the likelihood of getting someone ready from day 1 is getting smaller

Return to Minnesota Vikings
