Great move to hire him, he should have been a head coach years ago, and the people in Cincinnati REALLY didn't want to see him leave.

people really seem to like this, so hopefully it works out great

zimmer is looking at norv turner, kyle shanahan, and mike mularkey as offensive coordinators and paul guenther (bengals linebacker coach) as defensive coordinator - but he might become the bengals new defensive coordinator

Norv Turner would get my thumbs up, not only is he an actual good offensive minded quarterback friendly coach, but he'd be replacing Musgrave who is garbage.

I would assume he'd stick with the 4-3 since he ran it in Cincy and that's what fits our personnel.

Excellent hire. The anti-Frazier. Lets get Norv on offense.

seems like norv is going to be the guy on offense, and they are looking at george edwards (miami linebackers coach) for defensive coordinator

Turner has always done a great job as an offensive coordinator, I'd be happy with that move.

Looks like Dolphins linebacker coach George Edwards will come in as the defensive coordinator also today.

Don't know much about Edwards, but he worked with Zimmer in the past, so Zimmer should know his abilities. I like Turner for OC.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Some people are questioning the Edwards hire but chances are he'll be more of a yes man to Zimmer. You would have to think there's some kind of budget as well. Need to get Norv paid and whatever is left can go towards a DC that has background with the HC (Edwards). Essentially, we hired our DC yesterday. I have complete faith with this new group.

yeah zimmer is probably going to be in on a lot of what the defense does, and norv gets to run the offense

i like it - trying to temper my excitement

I havent been this excited to see what this team can do since Favre came here, and before that, never.

its official, turner is the oc and george edwards is the dc - rest of the staff will be announced later. must be waiting until priefer's investigation is done before deciding if they are going to keep him or not

i guess zimmer said it was a possibility that he might call defensive plays during the game, which i found interesting. i know there are head coaches who call offensive plays but i hadn't heard of it the other way before. are there head coaches now who call defensive plays?

Not sure, but Zimmer should be calling all the defensive plays because Edwards doesn't have a very good track record.

I'm surprised he even got a job. I would not want that guy teaching anything to my quarterback.

Some will argue he's a better QB coach than a play caller (which isn't saying much) but he did a solid job with Matt Ryan.
