yeah besides the players we signed I think the contracts we signed them to were very reasonable.

i really happy with free agency, we got some good players at positions we needed and they didn't break the bank

that is about as good as you can do

we also signed lestar jean, a big athletic receiver. he's had some injuries but hopefully he can step in and help if our receiving corps gets banged up, that is if he makes the final roster.

christian ponders option for 2015 has been declined so he'll be a free agent after this upcoming season

Ponder could be a decent backup, but never again should he start a game.

Wiretap has the Vikings discussing a trade for Sam Bradford.

We don't even have the salary cap for Bradford. I wonder what we would have to give up to get him.

Someone on general board mentioned 8th pick and Ponder for 13th pick and Bradford. If he restructures his contract, I would do this in a heart beat. Allows us to keep put picks, get a qb, and draft defense.

i don't know about bradford, doesn't everyone pretty well know what they have in him now? isn't he a fairly mediocre qb? can he get much better than what he is now?

Throughout most of his career he has been mediocre and injury prone. Part of that is due to offensive scheme changes and a lack of a receiving core. Before he got injured he was on his was to a 30 touchdown to 11 interceptions ratio with at least 4,000 yards. But ya, you would wonder why the rams would so willingly let him go.

The Vikes would be way better off to draft a quarterback then trade for Bradford. It would be so much cheaper, and the production probably wouldnt be that far off.

I don't think RS wants to take a QB at 8. If he fails again selecting one high in the draft, he'll get the boot if that QB becomes a bust. I could see him trading back a few spots to select a defensive player and going QB in the 2nd round. Could end up with Cassel/Bradford/rookie. I wouldn't take him with his current salary though but a restructured deal with Ponder going out would make the trade interesting.

I dont see the reason not to take Bridgewater, or Bortles at 8 if they are there. Seems like a stupid idea to pass them up.

If we don't take a QB, maybe we could take Watkins or Evans. If your receiving core is good enough sometimes you don't need a great QB, like in 1998.

Many believe they can be had in the mid to late 1st round. Could all be smoke. Nobody really has an exact idea how the draft will look this year. If so, RS may look to pickup extra picks to get the player he wants without 'reaching' for him at 8.

Staff may also like some of the QB prospects (Murray, Mettenburger, McCarron, etc.) later in the draft a lot better.

We have many areas of need so looking to fill multiple holes isn't too far fetched.

another thing is that bradford has been in the years for a few years, i've gotten the impression that spielman/zimmer/turner want a rookie who is 'their guy' or their choice and someone they want to groom themselves to be the qb of the future

that's why i like the trade back from 8 a few picks and then trade back up into the late first (for a qb)

that is assuming the qbs fall like everyone seems to think they will now
