Adding those guys would be cool, but they would still need one more CB (the Cromartie fellas are still out there I think), and who knows what the plan is for the linebackers?

I dont see them adding 2 cb's in FA, adding Munnerlyn would probably be enough for this year, unless they use the draft.

Yep, probably don't have the cap space if they sign both Melton and Munnerlyn. Too bad.

Too many holes on defense to completely fill this year, some are going to be filled like the front four and some are going to be incomplete like the LB group and the secondary.

With the LBs on the roster, you almost would think they'd be forced into bigger roles (at least Hodges, since he has no health problem history that I know of). But all I've really seen on the subject are the mock drafts that see the Vikings picking Mack (if available) or Mosley in the first round.

I think Mack will be gone before we pick. I wish Audi Cole would have played more, would have given us a better idea if he is starting material.

A little late, but Vikings sign Captain Munerlyn to a 3 year 14.5 million 7 million guranteed contract. Not only is Captain #2 or slot CB, but that is a great contract for the Vikings, very glad this deal got done.

We'll see what happens with Melton later tonight.

Josh Robinson will most likely be on the outside now. He was put in a bad situation last year.

Derek Cox (CB) signed to a one year deal.

This could end up being a steal if Mike Zimmer can resurrect his career. He's claims to be healthy now and may possibly have a chip on his shoulder. He has some size at 6'1 195 lbs. along with 13 career INTs, which is more than Chris Cook (0 career INTs).

I read somewhere else he wasn't a great fit in the 4-3. We're probably not a great place for a veteran on his last legs anyway.

It looks promising. I think were better off without him; no need for Zimmer to waste his time.

I thought it'd take at least 2 years to put an upper echelon D together, but on paper I'm loving how this defense is shaping up. Lot will depend on how the LB core comes together and if Griffin is as good as they're paying him to be.

Unless they draft heavily on LB who immediately make an impact, I think it will be at least two years to be upper echelon. But they look like they could be much improved (like middle of the pack perhaps).
