week 14: jets @ vikings noon

Post#1 » by hermes » Thu Dec 4, 2014 12:34 am

jets (2-10) @ vikings (5-7)

i don't know much about the jets other than they have a real mess at qb (kind of like us last year, with a rotation)

another game at home against a not good team, a game it would be good for us to win - maybe a little more life on offense since the special teams magic won't likely come every week

go vikings!

Charles Johnson starting over Patterson. Not the best news to hear, but he deserves it.

what do you guys think is going on with patterson, i know that he's not there yet in terms of 'getting it' as a receiver but he doesn't have that extra gear on kickoffs this year - last year it was exciting because he could house one at any time and he'd regularly get it to midfield

this year he's only getting it to the 20ish yard line, hasn't really come close to breaking one

Ya, I know his route running is fairly bad, and this is worrisome. He should understand how to do the things he is supposed to by now.
And the kickoff thing is also interesting. It only makes sense that he came back down to earth this year, but you no longer get that feeling when the ball is in his hands.

It doesn't help that we've stopped running the plays he's good at. If you have a player like Patterson you need to get the ball in his hands.

Good point, we never seem hit get any screens, sweeps, slants, or be a running back any more.

I grabbed the Vikes D for fantasy, they need to be able to stop the run. Make the Jets throw!

Kalil needs to be traded for whatever they can get or just released.
