i think that is right, but from what i've seen they are deciding to take all the dead money now (the other method would spread it out over two years) - they must really like not carrying a lot of dead money into the future

Greenway is too expensive for whatever intangibles it is that he brings. On the field, he rarely stuffs runs or makes plays in the passing game. and his tackling efficiency is among the poorest in the NFL. Better to replace him with Hodges, but since Greenway is still here and Brinkley isn't, maybe Hodges will be at MLB? Not sure what the plan is. Personally would've rather keep Brinkley, who's a very sure tackler, and plug the athletic Hodges in @ WLB.

i get that he makes too much money (i think everyone, even he does) but is that why everyone is so anxious to cut him? if he restructured would everyone be alright with him coming back for less?

I strongly believe Greenway will restructure. His on the field play is too poor for how much money he is making. But he probably brings a lot of knowledge and insight to the linebacker position which can help players like Barr, Cole, Mauti, and Hodges.
Jennings was going to make more than Wallace so I understand why he was cut, but if we're not going to use the money we saved - then I have no idea why we cut him? Unless it was to give Wright more time.

Well that kinda sucks.. Mike Johnson chooses Bengals over Vikes.. Hopefully the draft goes better than free agency

Vikes obviously didn't want to overpay to get Michael Johnson and probably only offered him a short term contract. After the Bucs gave him that big contract last year he didn't play anywhere close to as good as he did the year before, so I'd worry about his work ethic. Ill be keeping my eye on him this season.

Taylor Mays came and went - no contract agreement. Looks like another year of Blanton/Sendejo.

this makes me way happier than it probably should. I've literally been googling him every day for updates.

What have you gathered? Seems like a special teams player and depth. I haven't done any research, but I can't envision him being any better than Blanton. Also we signed Clay Mathews brother.

based on the contract, you're most likely right. Maybe he's not the guy to have at SS; I also like to imagine him at the WILL with Exum @ SS and Hodges at the MIKE and finally get some speed and athleticism in the lineup.

so we signed some giant out of poland (and the german football league), he's 6'9'' and 351 pounds

he's a huge dude who really likes to get out there and hit people, reasonably agile and likes to get to the second and third levels to hit more people

best one was at 2:00 in the second video, he just lays that guy out
