They can't I don't think. This is a Patriots forum thread originally

Im a mod in all Boston sports forums 8-)

The ball thing is a pretty big non-story IMO. They stomped the Colts earlier and then they just did it again. They got killed in the running game for crying out loud. Now if it was a closer game it'd be a problem but don't blame deflated balls on your ass getting handed to you like that.

They are saying it's true now but still a lot of mystery around it the balls were replaced at halftime and the pats still stomped them for 45 points.

I do find it annoying but I will still enjoy the game - unless the NFL uncovers some actual conspiracy to deflate the balls. The pats are responsible for the balls and provided them to the refs who presumably checked them. Long as they met standards you can't assume that the Patriots did something wrong.

I don't think circumstantial evidence cuts it. Things can go wrong with leather sacks filled with air. It's not exactly state of the art technology. If its so critical that balls have the right pressure they should have some team monitoring them during the game and then swapping them in. In tennis they change after every couple of points.

well that's the next step finding a conspiracy. ..was this on the cold air...or was this on the refs not checking the balls correctly. To me it seems less like a.consporaxy and more like refs not doing their due diligence. We will see.

Man i'm looking forward to this game, can't wait.

Didn't know Pierce was a Brady fan, thought he liked the Red Sox only.

Not going to lie gentlemen, I'm very nervous about this game. Amazing season and I'm just glad we made it here. I'm going to try and stay humble and hungry as Rick Carlisle would say.

though he was playing injured, the protection against Ravens looked much better once Stork was out...a bit concerned there..

What the hell Brady? That pick was all him. Not a single person open in the area and he should have taken the sack if anything.

I think that spot they gave to Wilson was damn generous.
