Great fricken game. Defense hopefully showed their true colors. They played this well against Miami in the first half but didn't really in the second.

Chandler Jones is dat dude!!
Too many penalties.

Chandler Jones on track for a breakout season, him and Hightower were tremendous today.

It's really not fair to Devin, but whenever I think of him, I feel haunted by the ghosts of Demaryius and Dez. We could've had either one of them, but traded down like always. Pretty sure McCourty was slated as a 3/4th rounder too, so we probably could've still gotten him too.

IIRC, we traded down twice and both Dez and Demaryius were both taken with the picks we traded out of.

That was more of what I expected in the first game. I usually think that Hightower sucks but he had a good game and so did Jones. McCourty too and I always bitch about him.

McCourty has taken some time and a position change to develop into the player he has. He had a fantastic rookie year but really fell apart in the coming years at corner till they made the switch. I think he's a great defensive back and one of the best players on this defense.

With Jones, I just heard Bob Ryan on trash on him saying this will be a huge year for him to prove and that he's only had one good season, which was his rookie year, yada yada yada. That's BS, this kids exceeded expectations since day 1, sure he has some bad games, but he's not elite, he's no strahan or J.J. Watt and no one should expect him to be. He's looking like an all-pro and we should be thrilled with that.

Hightower who had a rough go of it in his sophomore year last season is looking fantastic so far this year.

Was out and watched the game at wild wings. Fantastic. Place erupted with chandlers block and run. Still on a high from it.

That was the defense showing the world that the Miami game was a fluke in my opinion.

That was certainly more like it. The offense is still shaky but coming around.

I really like Chandler Jones as a player, I think as Vince and Seymour before him he may get lost in the scheme at times and not get the love the some of the premier pass rushers get but I think he can do things that a Strahan couldn't do as far as holding up against the run.

Really nice to Revis get one as well.

Brady needs to come back with some big time games to convince me he has till got it..

I always think he just zones in on his favorite guys and forces it in there - even if other dudes are open. Its like an additional calculation hey that guy is open but its not Edelman - let me throw it to Edelman.

This is why I was glad when Welker was gone. Brady seemed to throw it to Welker no matter what - even when Welker had a full on case of the dropsies goin..

I know he completed most of his passes - but he didn't really take that many chances downfield..

Two games I know, but:
Edelman: 12 receptions, 176 yards
Rest of the team: 32 receptions, 222 yards

I'd really prefer if they could get other guys other thank Gronk and Edelman involved because this already looks like last year where Edelman was the one and only guy. Everyone else was in the doghouse. How the hell are they expected to get any better if they never get thrown to?

Also what a surprise. Amendola signing still blows.

Brady's deep throw has been declining since Moss left but he's still got it. His medium/short passes are just as strong and accurate as in previous years.

Frankly, every deep throw from Brady worries me at this point.

Yea I'm not a fan of his deep throws either. Every time I see him throw that thing more than 15 yards I'm like aw crap and just assume it's a throwaway/incomplete.
