It's not that Toronto plays dirty. It's more that Magloire has no skills left so he has to push people around to even the playing field.

:) Magloire and Amir are pretty rugged. Bargs not so much, but I like him for different reasons.

He's playing within the system. He hustles on defense. Can't really complain.

2 steals are not going to make up for all the open looks he gave Calderon and others.
Nor for the lack of creating offense.
He just got an assist when falling on the ground cause he couldn't dribble anyone again even with the help of a screen.

I don't understand why he is getting so many minutes and Hill and Lance so few.

His man, on-ball defense leaves something to desired. I don't understand it because he's quick enough, he just struggles to slide his feet laterally.

But I don't think there's a question that he's the best point guard on this roster. You can tell the starters are much more comfortable with him running the show than Hill or Lance.

Hill can run back up point in spot minutes, but I'm not sure how much trust Vogel has in Lance's decision making at this point.

Collison and Hibbert with double-doubles, a rare sight if it was last season. Even more impressive for Collison was the fact that the rest of the Pacers shot under 40% and he still got 11 dimes.

It's obviously too early, and the worst is yet to come schedule-wise, but we are squarely in the lead in the Central Division.

West is seriously what this team needed. His poise and leadership late game and key shot go a long way in justifying this signing. The game got away from us a little at the end, but this team showed that it can close out.

I love me some David West. That's a great signing right there.

Collison did well on defense tonight. Calderon was 3-9 with 3 TO's and only 6 assists, which is not a lot for the stat-padder.

It's hard to understate how huge the David West signing was for the Pacers. He is literally the perfect fit for this team.

He can run the pick and roll with Collison. He can hit the jumper and take pressure off Roy in the paint. He can attract defenses and take pressure off Danny. He can score in the post. He makes the smart pass. He crashes the boards. He's a veteran leader. And he doesn't shy away in the big moments.

I saw an interview once where D West said he watched a lot of tape on Karl Malone. Keep watching that tape, David. We're so glad to have you.

Hill has been total **** offensively the first 4 games. Not that I don't think he'll be fine. But the rotations have been sound from Vogel so far.

Predicition.

If David West makes it to April, averages a solid 15 and 8 at least, and doesnt miss any significant time due to that knee. He gets a 4 yr extension this offseason. I would venture to bet that was a pre-signing discussion Bird and West, West's agent had.

You do watch the game do you?

Calderon missed 2-3 straight open looks and asked a timeout right after Bargnani got the rebound.

Most of the times DC just passes the ball and the other Pacer makes a short action (drive/fake...)

Calling Calderon a stat-padder and drooling over the double double DC had :-?

OK, I'm derailing this thread. It's now the Indiana-Michigan State gamethread.

Broadcaster said IU was down 18, now they're up 3.

The Granger/West combo is a very solid one, and I think you can expect at least one of them to always have a pretty good game. The two definitely kept things together with the Raptors almost clawing back.
