It all depends on what type of contract you're willing to take back. Tyrus Thomas-esque? Or does it also have to be expiring?

Might be worth seeing if Utah would bite on something around West + something for Millsap. Both expiring, but Millsap would be a longer term option for us.

I wouldnt do that trade, unless Millsap is willing to sign long term to us. We can't take a chance... west has been pur MVP so far this season.

I don't think anyone is on the table now besides Granger, realistically.

Just to be a thorn in your side, how do we know that West will be willing to sign long term with us? What if we had to move West before we lose him in free agency?

If we have to, sure. But he's living in Indy, and he's not getting any younger, so I doubt anyone will give him a better offer than us.

Sorry i posted this in the wrong thread.

Back onto the "random trade" topic... our favorite reporter Peter Vecsey said today he believes the Pacers plan for this season was to trade Danny Granger.... which is now impossible because he lost all of his fair-value. Interesting to say the least.

The same argument could be made if we traded for Millsap. Thus, the ultimate question. Who do you think would be a better long-term option at PF for Indy? Millsap or West?

Don't take this as me demanding we trade West. I love David West. I just also think the world of Millsap.

I'm sure if we were to trade for Millsap, some picks would have to be given to them, and I think we need those picks to fill the holess that have become glaringly obvious this season.

Which holes, and how do you think our picks will fill them?

Well it certainly seems we need to look for a strong scoring presence off the bech, as well as possibly looking for another 3. I can't specifically say who we should pick or what we should do with them, but to me it seems more logical to trade up to a lottery pick rather than using those picks on Millsap when we have West who has played great this season.

If the draft were today I'd settle for a competent player regardless the position.

If Hansbrough could return a respectable wing player I'd be game.

If Hansbrough could return anyone, I'd be game. I doubt he has any trade value whatsoever. Maybe when he was younger he could've been traded for a decent player, but by now everyone has seen him play, and there's no way he's worth anything to any team.

Hawks fan.

With Granger out for a while, I imagine you guys could use some scoring!

Curious, how does Lou Will, Morrow/Korver, Petro, and maybe our Houston pick sound for Granger?

You get a microwave scorer in Lou Will, a pure shooter to space the floor for West and Hibbert, and a complete scrub that makes too much money.

We get a solid if slightly expensive wing who's injured.

We just can't sell Granger low at this point. I'd love to get a scoring guard, but I don't think giving Granger up will help us at this point. If anything we'd wait until next season where Granger is an expiring deal also.

I'd gladly move DJ + 1st + filler for Lou though.

I would give a 1st round pick for Morrow or Korver we need a shooter so badly no one on our team can just come in off the bench and just flat out shoot

In the other thread, you wanted to blow this team up and start over. Now, you'd be OK with trading a first round pick (which has the potential of being really high) for Anthony Morrow or a Kyle Korver? Some 10 points per game at best type guys? Seriously?

I don't like the idea of blowing the team up. Maybe we can trade away a few pieces, but since we just signed an entirely new bench, I doubt the Pacers will be in a hurry to trade them. The only starting player is want to trade would be George to maybe get a sg that can get his own shot and supplement Grainger when he returns.

thoughts on Jeff Green for David West?

obviously Jeff would have to prove the last few games were not a fluke, no problem as he cannot be dealt for a while.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? A proven leader for an unproven player. No thank you. Sounds exactly like what we did in getting rid of Barbosa and Amundson while signing Mahinmi and Green, andlook how that turned out.

Would you trade Lance Stephenson for Nick Young?

Nope. And fiscally, the concept can't even be discussed per trade rules. It's a non-starter.
