Yup, we got destroyed, 101-81.

http://www.nba.com/games/20140705/BKNIND/gameinfo.html

The only bright spot was Donald Sloan, with 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. He shot only 6 of 15 but got to the line 11 times.

Everyone else sucked.

Down by 14 in the 2nd quarter. Our summer team sucks, wow.

Solomon Hill still isn't playing with a sprained ankle. Reed and Gaines are both leading the team with 6 points.

Up by 20 late in the 3rd. Willie Reed is absolutely beasting on Olynyk.

We already have enough of a frontcourt log jam or I'd be all for signimg him. Scola or Cope has to go first.

Guess we'll never know what happens next. Better have back-up plans.

Watched the game against Boston, Reed looks useful, if we dump Scola and or Mahinmi I think we should sign him.
Vogel is Dutch for Bird.

Up by 28 late in the 4th. Sloan is leading this team nicely.

Yeah, Sloan looks good, which is awesome. Though I'm not sure where he'll be getting minutes for the Pacers with both CJ Watson and George Hill still with us. Looks like he'll be in the same situation that he was in last year.

Shame, really. He looked good in short stints last year as well.

Donald Sloan didn't play at all today, but we still beat the Heat and shut Shabazz down.

Also, Solomon Hill failed to play a single summer league game, which is incredibly disappointing. He should have been playing.

Another solid game from Kevin Jones.

Napier's been playing poorly in this summer league.

I predict Sloan will explode at the SL. (18/4/7)

Sloan averaged 18.5/ 3.5/ 5.5. I was close but more importantly Sloan proved worthy of further development, and quite honestly he will fit in nicely once Watson expires. I think Larry should strike a deal before he proves to be a viable backup. I'd offer 4/8 mill without hesitation.... Right now, not after next season when his price could double. Due to Bird wanting a purer distributor on the floor, as our roster stands, Sloan might inherit a minor role next season, especially if Hill plays more 2. We shall see soon enough.

Contracts fewer than 4 years cannot be extended or renegotiated. Sloan has to expire. Can't be extended in any way. He will also be an unrestricted free agent, as he'll have been in the league for 4 years as a veteran undrafted free agent.

Solomon was injured. Bad ankle, I believe. Nothing serious for the season but bad enough to keep him off of it for a couple weeks. Wasn't a choice.

Yeah, I know. He sprained his ankle 2 days before summer league began. Just a little disappointing, I believe he was expected to play a couple of them at least but they held him out to be safe.

I wasn't able to watch any SL games this year, so can someone fill me in? Any standouts worth trying to get on the roster? I know we're at 15 right now so that won't be easy, but it seemed like the / names I heard about the most were Willie Reed and Kevin Jones. Seems like waiving Scola could get us Rees for cheaper, which could come in handy wih any extra cap space possible for a mid season trade

Willie Reed and Kevin Jones were two big guys to play well. Donald Sloan was the only guard that stood out in a positive manner consistently.

Ultimately, since Lance has left, and we have almost $3m to the tax line with 15 guys, I think we might try and give the big guys a chance to take Whittington's spot as a developmental big on the roster, and that's probably it. We'll probably keep Scola since there's no one else on the market that's worth waiving him for. Ultimately, his full season salary isn't guaranteed until December, so we have time. However, we probably keep him and let him play it out.

If we could've kept Lance, I have no doubt we would have dumped Scola as one of the cost cutting measures though.

I wish the NBA would utilize the D-league like baseball does with its minor league farming system, or like the NFL does with the practice squad.

All we do with the Mad Ants is send a scrub down on occasion, by no means do we have any significant impact on our supposed affiliate.
