Could be an interesting target and who knows, Goran didn't look like a star coming into the league at all. Also couldn't hurt if Bird wants to try and make a play for Goran next summer.

Sure, why not? The two names have entirely different meanings, actually. Zoran comes from the word "Zora" (Зора in the Cyrillic script) which means "dawn" while Goran comes from the word "Gora" (Гора in Cyrillic) which means "mountain".

Could give it a go, but aren't we at a full roster? Been away for the week so not too up to speed with things but didn't we sign Fair?
Vogel is Dutch for Bird.

Still kinda seems like naming your kids Eric and Derrick. Sure, there's nothing wrong with either of those names, but you will really, really need to enunciate.

We have 16 guys signed, but could have some small competitions. Whittington only has $25k guaranteed, and could lose his spot if Fair or another big just looks more useful now/long term.

Or, it's possible that Sloan or another minimum could lose out if someone looked so good you had to keep them.

There are options.

We don't have a stable of young cheap guys on our roster but the looks of the upcoming season screams develop whatever young talent possible. Singleton, Fair and maybe Zoran all fit the bill. It certainly wouldn't be the end of the world if the Pacers had to eat a few dollars in the form of letting Whittington, Sloan or Scola walk. It's all about quitely finding a long term keeper or two this year.

Officially agreed to sign in Phoenix (shocking, I know) to play with his brother. 2 years, $4m. Almost essentially the BAE. Most likely, a piece for Phoenix to use to try and keep Goran in town to re-sign there at the end of this year.

Phoenix still has this thing for twins and brothers. They are stacked at the PG spot with Thomas as the primary reliever. They have to do something with Ennis.

One would think, but he's just entering a rookie deal. They can keep him for 4 years from now, after which Zoran and IT would have expired, and he'll cost them near nothing.

Yes, but he'd be useless for the entire span of his rookie deal, being a 3rd string PG at best.

Maybe. But you'd have him dirt cheap, get to develop him slowly, and when you need him in year 4, you still have him on his rookie deal.

Otherwise, guys just really don't get traded post-draft before they finish their first year. Sure, Wiggins did this year, but that was an outlier for Kevin Love that would've been a draft day trade if it could have been.

Tough break for Ennis. He may never see rotation minutes over the entire course of his rookie contract. There are probably 2nd round picks sitting in better situations than him.

A lot could happen. Bledsoe is likely to miss about 10-20 games a year, and Goran could possibly walk at the end of the year. Even without the possibility of Goran walking, there's still a chance of an injury and you'd need Ennis.

Sure there's a chance. Great that the Suns have a pretty highly rated rookie as their 3rd/4th pg but, a better situation for Ennis has him playing for a team that can slide him into rotation minutes. Right now his best case scenario is being part of a consolidation trade that moves him to another team who could offer a better opportunity.

2015 draft day deal Pacers trade their first round pick for Ennis.

Boy, I'd really hope we don't settle so low like that. He went 18th in this draft. You'd trade a possible 10-18th pick in next year's draft for him? If he essentially didn't play much this year; as in your theory?

You are right based on my theory (that he won't play much this year) his value will go down. Really just throwing something out there in the hopes of creating some conversation. FWIW, Ennis reminds me a little of Mike Conley. A surprising freshman who jumped into the draft discussion and who physically probably isn't quite ready. He will probably never be a star, best case scenario he becomes a competent starting caliber pg and that process will involve some pain and take about 4 years. Pretty much what you hope for from a guy picked in that range.

Eh, Conley's a poor comparison, in terms of draft. Conley was a dominant freshman in college, and was a top 5 draft pick all year long, after being a top 10 high school recruit for his junior and senior years. Coming out was expected, and he was projected to go top 5, and he was projected as NBA physically ready. But in terms of taking 4 years to become a really competent PG? Sure, maybe. If so, Phoenix is in a good spot if they have him 4 years, even if they sit him 3.
