I know it was the first game of the season, against the 76ers, but I was pretty impressed with how we played. Stuckey was great. Hibbert, too. I like Lavoy Allen. Even Scola didn't make me want to pull my hair out. I don't see us as a playoff team, but I think we can hold our own this year.

Watching Donald Sloan brought back memories of a Pacers/Magic game that I attended about 20 years ago. Pooh Richardson and Vern Fleming couldn't go so the Pacers had to go with this 3rd string guy I'd never heard of Haywood Workman. My recall is that Woody was pretty solid that night and was an almost immediate fan favorite. By season's end he was the starting pg. Nice feel good story.

Donald Sloan has the opportunity of a lifetime staring him in the face over the next couple weeks. Maybe 1 in 50 guys like Donald Sloan get a chance like this and every now and then a guy you've never heard of carves out a little NBA niche for himself. Hope he's able to grab hold of it the same way Workman did.

I love Sloans game he can be a difference maker. If I recall I heard Quinn Buckner saying that he's everything they want George hill to be. This guy has a chance to play mins this year as maybe a back up or starter

I like Sloan's build, which is similar to E Bledsoe's frame. Only time will tell if he really is the player we saw last night. Hopefully he seizes his opportunity.

Sloan's done nothing but play surprising well in his 2 seasons here. I like the kid. At least we'll get a chance to see what he truly has over the course of this year.

Great opportunity for Sloan since Watson expires this summer

Sloan picked it up, but he turns the ball over and I am not sure he accelerates us enough offensively. He is a serviceable back-up who had a good game (he sure beats Ben Hansbrough in that role...). The issue I think here is that Hill will need to turn it on this season to demonstrate that he is actually better than his back-ups.

Nobody mentioned the Scola breakaway dunk by the way? I thought that was a sweet bit of play for an old man who can't jump ;)

I saw potential in Sloan last season, and it's great he's gonna get an opportunity now to see if he's an asset (sure looked like it this game).
I was REALLY surprised how athletic we looked on both ends of the floor.
