No. Just West. If both opt out, we'd be around $25-30m in cap space depending on who we re-sign (Scola, Stuckey, Allen) .

At this point I'm hoping Hibbert Opts out too. We can resign Scola $4 million, Stucky $5.6 million and Allen for $3-4 million. That would give us room for 1 bigger signing or two more smaller ones, or if we wanted to take some teams big contract, such as David Lee from GSW and get paid Harrison Barnes and the #30 pick to do it I'd be ok with that.

I'd like me some Barnes.

I'd say either draft one and throw them into the first (Portis, Looney, Lyles, NOT Kaminsky) or resign Allen and try to get him cheap for 3-4 years with a guaranteed starting spot. He generally performed well when given minutes and can play the 4 and 5.

I don't think we'll have the space to sign one that would be worth it. Maybe Ed Davis, but I'm weary of how much he wants. Darrell Arthur could be an interesting option that we probably could afford though.

I'm all for resigning Allen the guy I like is Portis, I agree no Kaminski unless we get a late #1 and he's there which is unlikely. I think we're gonna have to bring back Scola too. Ed Davis looked good at times last season but it was hard to get a handle on him because they kept splitting time between him and Boozer. Arthur? I don't know he might be ok, I'd rather draft a big and bring back Allen and Scola.

We could probably get Anthony Bennett and get paid a 2nd for Stanko.

Interesting. Is he looking to go to the Cavs? Or is he opening a way to resign longer but for less? It all depends on when he is planning to retire.

Whatever he does, West has been an awesome servant for the club.

Can't blame the man. I think if I am in his situation, i'd do the same. We are on a re-tool and he's not getting younger. At first thought I actually thought that this is a blessing in disguise as we can play a much faster offense, without West and Hibbert in the starting lineup. But something tells me it's a bigger liability. Oh well, let's see how we do in the offseason.

He could end up on the Spurs and make them a bit younger.

There will be opportunities to take on solid talent (T.Jones -HOU, Bennett-MIN) and gain more draft picks...but that would signal a major overhaul / rebuild. Gss I can't think of any other way to quickly turn this team around tho if we are really going uptempo.

I'd take on T.Jones and the #18 for Solo. Then Take on Bennet the #31 and #36 for the rights to Stanko and Whittington.

Then draft our second unit...

#11 - Cauley Stein (C)
#18 - Jerian Grant (PG)
#31 - Christmas or Harrell (PF)
#36 - Connaughton (SF)
#41 - Joseph Young (SG)

I don't understand why the team needs to turn around. didn't we turn around in mid-season when GHill returned to the court? I'd take that late season record for the full year and I think all that requires is to stay healthy. PG's return should more than make up for DWest's departure.

David Lee and Paul Milsap seem like viable targets. Its entirely possible either would be an upgrade over what West gave us last year.

I actually think I would prefer David Lee depending on how the draft turns out because he could be a great 5 in smaller lineups. Millsap however, would be less of a rebounding 4/5 and also more expensive.

I prefer Millsap over lee. To me David lee is more of a rotation guy now in his career where I think Millsap still has a lot to give

I'd be real happy with Milsap, or IF we could get paid well to take Lee. Lee isn't gonna be good for more than 20 min per game, but if we could get Lee and Barnes for Stanko I'd be bouncing off the walls.

You talked about getting Ariza and Capella from Houston for Solo, how about Ariza and Jones for West in an S&T?

Sorry if this has already been posted. Apparently its NY.

That's a weird one. You'd figure that he would be taking a pay cut to go to a rebuilding squad? Unless Phil blows $15m+ on a 35 year old PF..

Ya, I just saw that West is very likely to go to play for the Knicks. Are you serious West? I mean I kind of understand to leave and go to a team has a really good chance winning it all and so on, but to go to the Knicks? lol. Pacers have a better chance winning it all next season then the Knicks do

He would have got 15 million this next season with the Pacers. Doubt someone gives him a 4 year deal when I think he;s got 2 years at the most left in him

He was scheduled to make $12.6m so $15m would be a pay bump. The bit about length of contract is exactly my point, surely the Knicks have had to overpay in $ or years to get him.

Also, its entirely possible that the report is false.

West is an idiot leaving that money on the table to go to (of all places) New York.

There's talk of Houston dumping salary to pursue LMA and that trade concept was geared to help Houston toward that specific objective. At this stage of the game I'm not sure West would be as productive as Ariza. So, given our draft choice I would re-tool the trade to be:

Solo for Ariza and Jones.
