Ok did I miss something ? Jalen Smith no minutes yet ?

After 1 Pacers 29-28. I’ve seen some Pacers defense, missed shots from the Nuggets, and some sloppy possessions from the Pacers.

Jalen Smith has a sore back.

Nice first half and Pacers 62-54 with Nuggets shooting 18% from 3.

Porter 0-6 Caldwell 1-5 with Murray, Jokic and Jackson keeping them close.

Pacers shooting very well tonight 61% from 2 and 50% from 3. Myles, Siakam, Mathurin, Nembhard and Nesmith playing well.

McConnell 7 assists and Nesmith 6 rebounds stand out. Mathurin and Nembhard finally playing better tonight.

Carlisle double technical and he leads the league in technicals. Supposedly pissed about no foul call on Siakam’s shot.

So Denver goes on a 39-19 run in the third quarter. Guess Pierce doesn’t know how to call a time out and set up some offense and defense strategy. Very bad quarter by Mathurin trying to be the man which sometimes works but not tonight. I’m just pissed.

Despite the loss, this was exciting to see from Sheppard.

Yes it was and Nembhard played better offensively. TJ McConnell was great in the fourth quarter comeback. Myles 3 point shots unfortunately failed.

If you look at the record and talent the Nuggets are almost tied for first in the West, reigning champions, and the Pacers were in seventh in the East. They should have won. Credit to the Pacers for being so close at the end.

Comments from Coach after the game:

"I want to give the assistant coaches a lot of credit," Carlisle said. "The third quarter was not going well. I got run out of there. It got to 10 but they kept the group together. Getting Sheppard in the game was a great move because it brought the energy that we needed."
