One thing I like to look at in the standings is how many home games and how many road games each team has played. At the end of the year the numbers will be the same so if you've played more home games than road games now, as we have, you have more road games than home games left to play which suggests a slide. The Heat have extra home games to come which suggests a climb although strangely their road record is currently better than their home record.

I like to think that elite teams win both at home and on the road while tier two teams win at home and break even on the road. That's exactly what we've done so far which is a very good thing.

A reminder. Magic numbers are 83 (82 if we have the tie breaker) - Pacer wins - Other team's losses. So number for Nets is 83 - 39 - 43 = 1. So 1 Pacer win or 1 Nets loss and we clinch being in the play-in.

Nets lost to Bucks so worst case we're in the playin. We can't fall below 10th.

Orlando Magic on a hot streak. I bet they pass the banged up Cavaliers and secure the 3rd seed.

As Wizop said Heat lost tonight and the 76ers are at the Lakers. Still close there.

A win tonight would be sweet. Just not sure if the Pacers can build a lead the way Curry and Klay are stroking it tonight.

Clippers play the 76ers tomorrow. It'd be nice if they could take the 76ers down.

Indeed as the Pacers still have the Lakers and Clippers to play back to back courtesy of the NBA schedule makers. Would love to get one of these games preferably the Lakers as they have the lesser record and to show them we can hang with them better than they did in the in season tournament.

After tonight’s win now 1.5 games ahead of 76ers and Heat.

we also have a game coming against the Lakers in Indy. the game we lost to them in the in season wasn't one of our regular two meetings. I'll take a split.

Nets loss to Knicks guarantees Miami and Philly will be in the post season.

Bad news today as the Heat pounded the Cavaliers who just got Mobley back. 76ers also beat the Clippers by 14 who we play tomorrow on a btb. A win tonight for the Pacers against the evil empire would equalize these wins keeping us a game and a half in 6th.

Pacers win and 76ers lose tonight.

Pacers currently 6th have a 1 game lead over the Heat and 1.5 game lead over the 76ers.

Pacers, 76ers, Magic, Cavaliers lose.

Knicks win and move past Cavaliers into 3rd.

Heat gain a half game by being idle and the Pacers loss.

Heat 1 game behind us and 76ers 1.5 out of 6th. Pacers 2 games behind the Magic.

It would be so normal to fall into the playin and lose the 7-8 game and have to play the Bulls for 8th

We beat Lakers but Heat up huge to keep pace. Other games aren't final but they're going our way. Sweep the Nets and we could be in the race for 4th.

Nets have won 3 in a row and it's hard to sweep any team in a two game set, but two wins will clinch 8th. Actually with Chicago and Atlanta playing each other Monday, a Pacer win Monday will put us out of reach of the loser.

Tankathon has a chart with remaining strength of schedules. We're in the middle but Philly and Miami have easy schedules. The Knicks do have a hard schedule so maybe they'll slide. Three of their "easy" games are against the Bulls.

Is there any chance Milwaukee drops to the 3 and we stay at 6? I would love that opening round.

If we drop into the playin and win the 7-8 game, we'd be the 7 and would play the 2.

Hawks lose to Bucks making our magic number to finish ahead of them 1. They play the Bulls next and their number is 2.

Nets play the Lakers Sunday and will be on a back to back against us on Monday.
