2014 Week 5: Jets @ Chargers | 4:25PM CBS

Post#1 » by zilby » Sun Oct 5, 2014 2:33 pm

Well, the Chargers have looked like an extremely fluid offense thus far. If the Jets can get a couple of stops, this could go down to the wire. We desperately need a win today to get back on track. I have Nick Novak in fantasy, so here's hoping we limit them to 5 FG's and win 21-15. :)

Season on the line against a top QB right now. Somehow, this secondary needs to find a way to give time for the Front 7 to get to Rivers because that's really the majority of their offense. Their running game is nearly nonexistent.

Not a good start throwing the ball from Geno. The only first down he got was from a roughing the passer penalty.

Secondary gets torched and Hakim can't field the kickoff. Not a good omen.

Every team in the league knows to spread the field by now.

That 3rd and 18 for the enormous gain was absolutely brutal to watch.

I had no problem with giving Rex another season after going 8-8 last year and I know how tough this stretch of games has been, but I have no problem with cleaning house after this season mainly because of the last offseason. These have been very winnable games and could've been won had they decided to bring in the best talent during the offseason.

This game...the Chargers are actually running well against this Front 7.

Lol Rivers was in the locker room since he knew there was no way he'd get the ball back.

Geno delivers.

I just wrote a 2.5 hour midterm, unsure if I'm prepared to witness the agony of this 2nd half.

Looks like Vick is going in next offensive series.

Vick might start the rest of the game, not a move I support, but the bleeding does need to stop.

Couldn't care less. I'm not getting my hopes up with either him or Geno right now.

I actually like Geno, see a little Vick in him. but if he's gonna start unconditionally then get the man everything any QB would need. Better WR's would be a good start.

Lol at Vick calling a timeout right there.

I repeat, the Front 7 is getting beaten by the Chargers run game.

that was the most pathetic performance of NFL I have ever seen, this isnt on one player, the talent level on this team is not worthy of NFL games, college teams could beat this team

Idzik needs to be fired, he got this job on the SEA gig, but people forget he was their cap guy specialist....Jets need a talent specialist.

inaction in last year draft and FA is killing this team

can't put this on geno.. here are the problems I see..

1) geno is not playing well, but look at who he has to throw to.. I mean honestly kerly and nelson are 3rd receivers on most teams at best... to put things in perspective... Harry Douglas for the falcons(tony Douglas brother) is a third option on the falcons.. he would be the jets best receiver by far next to Decker..

2) Secondary.. our front seven is as good as there is, but they are on the field too much... the problem is we can't stop the pass.. receivers are not even running complicated routes, and they are wide open, it is simple toss and catch with the opposing offense... I have never seen a secondary so damn bad.

3) coaching... rex just does not have a disciplined group... too many penalties, false starts, etc... that is inexcuseable.

we have the broncos next week.... payton may set records... but if we could only score some points maybe we give ourselves a chance..

I had no idea we would look this bad... we honestly should have won that green bay and bears game... maybe we can steal a couple of games we thought we would lose.. I dunno..

vick is not the answer... and I didn't need yesterday to prove that..

I dont really blame geno,..he really has no weapons on the O end, I would argue decker is a #2, not a #1
the talent on this team is not a NFL worthy roster and that goes on the GM

as far as vick, he is a great mentor. but not the answer
